Pages of War is strategic card game of war inspired by classic fantasy tales of epic conflict between mythic races. In Pages of War you will take command of one of the four races of Murghingale and engage in intense battles.
To grasp victory you must assess your troops, form up ranks, push through your opponents' defenses and destroy their King and Queen... if you can find them.
Small Box, Big Experience! Pages of War provides the experience of a large competitive card game with all of the challenge, conflict, and depth of strategy packed into a rather small box.
Elimination... With a twist! In a 3 or 4 player game if you lose both King and Queen your race is defeated. However, in between the remaining players' turns you can give your extra troops to others. So you might not be able to win but you can certainly get even.
Many Ways to Play! The game can be played in 3 different ways based on the number of players. Standard for 3 to 4 players. Tyranny for 3 players. Alliance for 2 players.
You can always come up with your own custom game modes and house rules, tell your own epic tales.
In Pages of War you take on the role of a bard of 1 of the 4 races in the western lands of the continent of Murghingale: The Men of Blue Mountain, The Orcs of the Black Hills, The Dragkins of the Cloudy Peaks or The Elves of the Verdant-Wood.
You get a deck of 30 cards containing 22 heroes for you to attack and defend with, 3 Jacks to bolster your heroes, 3 Aces for quickly turning the tide of battle and 2 monarchs, your King and Queen who you must defend.
The Goal is to create ranks of heroes that are strong enough to find the other players' Kings and Queens and destroy them, while protecting your own monarchs from danger.
Once you've broken down your opponents' defenses go full force for their King and Queen. Tell your tale of glorious conquest!
See for yourself. PRINT! PLAY! ENJOY! And then PLEDGE!

Risks and challenges
While this is not my first attempt at a Kickstarter campaign, this is one of the first games that I have designed and developed from scratch with great attention to detail every step of the way (from the art and graphic layouts to the wording of the rules). All to ensure that Pages of War is as engaging and challenging as any competitive card game while remaining balanced and accessible.
I did not do it all alone though. To make this game the best possible finished product, Rachel Shaver (Consultant), Allex Kirkland (Editor), many playtesters, and reviewers helped every step of the way - to tweak, refine, and polish this game to the point where I know you will enjoy it.
Although this is the first proper game that I have launched on Kickstarter, I want to assuage any concerns . All the designs and mechanics for the game are very close to final. Any changes will be coming from additional backer input and stretch goals.
I have received manufacturing quotes both domestically and internationally with a scalable production plan. This way once the campaign ends, I can hit the ground running to get the game manufactured, shipped, and to your tables ASAP.
Last but not least, this is not only a campaign for Pages of War - this marks the beginning for J.Kloud Entertainment as a game publishing and designing company. How this project is handled will reflect forever on the future of the company. Therefore I will do everything I can to serve you, the backers, to give you the best gaming experiences possible, with the goal being that you will always look forward to J.Kloud's releases.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
