Following in the colossal footsteps of MF Doom, MF Grimm, and the rest of the boys in Monsta Island Czars, Jira, The Little One brings about the new era of "kaiju" hip-hop. Based on one of the most beloved franchises in cinema history... Godzilla!
Hip-hop music has a history of referencing pop-culture that stretches back to its earliest days. What better way to combine the things you love than to create art about it! This project combines my love of Godzilla and my love of hip-hop.
I'm Quinn Allan, but I'm better known as the nerdcore rapper Kid Apocalypse. With that project I began my career of nerd-themed hip-hop, starting with one of my other great loves... the X-Men! As I explored the world of nerdy and themed hip-hop, I discovered others like me who were embodying the characters of their favorite properties and creating art about it. What I did not expect was MF Doom and his boys to have put out a Godzilla-themed record back in the early 2000s! Once I heard that record, as well as the solo acts they put out, I knew exactly what I had to do... pick up where they left off!
Any Godzilla fan knows that the films are grouped into series. Showa, Heisei, and Millennium are all different eras in Godzilla films. With this project I proclaim the dawn of a new era in kaiju hip-hop... The Millennial Era!
At the time I'm writing this I have completed all the lyrics for this album. I was lucky enough to work with the very talented group MG Productions here in Portland and they have provided me with some beats for this record. I recently met a talented young DJ and Producer named Bill Beats and he has agreed to engineer this album for me at his studio.
So I'm coming to you, the glorious people from the farthest reaches of the internet. I'm asking for your help in bringing one of my longtime dreams to life: pressing one of my albums on vinyl! Maybe you're a huge Godzilla fan, maybe you love hip-hop or independent music, or maybe you're just an amazing person who wants to support those who are bold enough to follow their dreams. Whatever the case may be, if you feel like throwing your support my way, I will be eternally grateful. And you'll get some amazing rewards for backing me!
I need to pay Mr. Beats for his studio time, I need to get myself and some other featured artists up to Washington to record, and mostly, I want more than anything to press this album to vinyl. So let's do this! Why are you still reading? Pick a reward and help a kaiju out!

Risks and challenges
This could go one of a few ways. It's entirely likely that I won't make my goal, in which case...oh well, we tried. The other side of that is that we exceed the goal by so much that it becomes costly to make enough vinyl and pay to ship all the items. If it comes to that, I will make things right even at personal cost. That's a pretty good problem to have. I've done kickstarter campaigns before and trust me, shipping things is where your money will go. So I've tried to work that into the total amount.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
