Introducing Liteseeds, LED Stickers
Liteseeds LED stickers are tiny, bright, little LEDs made in the form of a sticker. They are peel and stick lights! Safe & easy to use.
We think you are going to LOVE creating with Liteseeds!
LITESEEDS LED STICKERS – WHAT ARE THEY?
They are tiny LED stickers that have conductive adhesive on the back, so just peel and stick instead or wires and soldering. Great for paper computing, DIY and lighting up general and paper crafts.
They work with new conductive materials like conductive ink & paint and with old conductive material like copper tape.
They are powered by a 3V coin battery.
We think it is pretty magical to be able to draw circuits and easily light them up with Liteseeds LED stickers. We think you will too!
IT IS PERFECTLY SAFE. Given, we do not want you or your children to eat any Liteseeds so we suggest ages of 10 and up with adult supervision and adults you will love them too! If you can draw a line (and it doesn’t even have to be straight!) and peel the backing off a sticker you can make a simple circuit and have it light up! In the main video you saw me using AgIC’s conductive ink marker on glossy photo paper with Liteseeds. Below is a rough homemade video on how to draw a simple circuit using conductive ink pen (Circuit Scribe) with Liteseeds.
Please read the full description on the right but we thought it might be helpful to give you visuals as well.

- To have much larger manufacturing runs. Large enough numbers to bring the price of Liteseeds way down. The more I am able to manufacture the less expensive they will be. I would like them to be as inexpensive as possible.
- To have the kits (some of which you saw in the video) manufactured and professionally printed. Right now everything is being printed out of my home printer and made by me. I have the resources to have kits professionally printed. I simply cannot afford to do this without your help.
- To manufacture the paper battery holders. As of now every battery holder has to be made as part of the kit. I believe people would more readily use Liteseeds and try adding light to more projects if they did not have to make the battery holder each and every time they wanted to light up a project or try something new. Premade, readily available flexible battery holders would be utilized in more types of crafts and applicable to a variety of substrates. The battery holder is currently in prototype form and a factory has been found that is willing to help develop them. As of now I am printing them out and then cutting them out and making them by hand. They are not hard to make nor put together, but it would be helpful to have pre-made paper battery holders.
- Packaging and bar codes are needed that meet certain requirements for sales.
- To spread the word about adding light to all kinds of projects using Liteseeds.
- To encourage little girls to grow up to be engineers, architects and designers. GIRL POWER!!!
- To inspire.
Not everyone in the world can afford expensive game consoles or has access to the internet. The sad truth is that 16 million children in the USA alone live in poverty conditions. Over my career I have worked in many inner schools doing Art in Education residences where all we had to work with was typing paper, scissors and anything we could recycle and that was free. This made a big impact on me. This is when I learned to be very creative with very little. You would be surprised what you can make with scissors, paper and glue. I would like Liteseeds and Liteseeds kits to be VERY affordable and they work great with scissors, paper and glue!
We are committed to try and keep the manufacturing of Liteseeds here in the USA. We believe in bringing manufacturing back to the states. If this Kickstarter, is funded it will allow us to order larger manufacturing runs so we can bring the price down. The more we can order the less expensive the price will be. We hope to be able to get Liteseeds kits into as many hands at inner city schools and after school programs as possible. Scissors paper and glue can be cool again.
Working with 3D paper kits teaches form, volume, shape and other skills. It is paper engineering, it makes you think in 3D. Adding light to 3D paper kits using Liteseeds adds a touch of magic. Light is very beautiful and appealing. Learning about light and circuits is very beneficial.
A BIT OF HISTORY:
In 1967 when I was 9 years old my parents got me a Mattel Super Thing Maker which was this amazing toy that had changeable metal dies that you poured plastic "Super Goop" into and then the little machine vacuum heated the goop to become a rubbery solid and you could assemble cool little creatures, flowers and bugs. I still have my Super Thing Maker. Coolest toy ever.
I credit this single toy for my having ended up interested in product design. I work with molds and in manufacturing all the time and absolutely LOVE it. I am one of the lucky ones who love what they do. Having kids play with form and light is a good thing. I hope Liteseeds will inspire an interest in the arts & sciences and in the magic of light and engineering.
Then there are the adults who create for pleasure and/or as a way of making a living and a life. I cannot wait to see what you do with Liteseeds. Over my career I have designed licensed and manufactured hundreds of products that people use to create with. Most people know me for jewelry components and findings as that is where I started and have had some measure of success, but I design and license in many categories. Seeing what people do with my products is the best part about my job. I can only imagine what kind of mixed media art & craft projects are yet to come...from YOU!
Imagine all the different things you can light up with Liteseeds. Imagining is good for your brain! Decorate your bike, light up your wedding decorations, your garden party, your welcome home sign. Make light up seating arrangement cards for your event, greeting cards and class projects. The list goes on and on.

Risks and challenges
You will notice that we gave different dates for different rewards. Some rewards we know we could supply sooner, some we know need to be scheduled according to manufacturers and production dates. Some dates we have to schedule together (your trip to Fort Collins). We will do our very utmost to get your rewards out on time but you know sometimes things go wrong and in life things just happen that we do not expect nor can control. We don't think anything major will happen but you just never know. We will do our absolute utmost to deliver by that dates stated. We have been manufacturing products a long time and understand the process, but we cannot avoid mishaps at the factories or acts of God at their locations. If this Kickstarter campaign takes off we will be using a fulfillment company to ensure smooth deliveries. Thank you!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
