At this low price, you can RECYCLE or REUSE them.
HaloVino™’s patent-pending two-piece design snaps easily together for a water-tight seal, and a Halo-like effect around the center of a stemless wine glass.
Its two-piece design allows for amazing stacking efficiency!
With 3 days left, we've got BIG news!
For weeks, we've been working in stealth mode on a super cool "add on" for HaloVino glasses, in case I couldn't get it to work. BUT on OUR LAST BUSINESS DAY OF THE CAMPAIGN... the prototypes arrived from CHINA...
And WOW is it COOL... The HALO can now GLOW in the DARK!
If we can surpass $29,00 during our last three days, everyone above $30 pledge gets a FREE reusable GLOW IN THE DARK HALOCORD with their pledge.
***Backers can also add $15 to an existing pledge for a pack of 12.
With wine consumption on the rise, wine drinkers increasingly struggle to find appropriate drink ware where glass is not permitted (i.e. stadiums, picnics, concerts, pools, camping, backyards, etc).
Drinking wine out of a conventional plastic cup is no longer acceptable for the casual, sophisticated wine drinker... and not for snobbery, but rather frugality. Simple science dictates that…
"A $15-wine smells & tastes like a $5-wine in a wide-rimmed glass."
When aromatic intensity is compromised, taste is compromised and perception of quality significantly reduced.
Almost two years ago, I set out to invent a wine glass that would allow wine drinkers to enjoy wine wherever alcohol was served, without having to compromise on taste or quality of experience. To accomplish this, my wine glass had to have four characteristics...
HaloVino™ glasses can be used anywhere alcohol is served because it is made of a shatterproof, BPA-Free, ultra-clarified food-grade polymer.
Goblet-Shaped for Optimal Wine Taste
Traditional wine glassware is best for wine consumption at home or a restaurant, but when glass is not permitted, nor desirable, the current options, mainly plastic cups, make otherwise good-valued wine, taste cheap, and non-glass events, messy.
The wide rimmed plastic cups dilute intensity of aromas, reducing perceived quality, while Halovino™ drinkware’s goblet shape and narrow rim funnels the aromas toward the nose, accentuating wine aroma and perceived quality.
Non-glass venues, such as concerts, sporting events, pools, picnics, boating, camping and outdoor parties, are especially spill-prone with more movement (i.e., standing, walking, boating, cheering, etc.) than a traditional table setting.
Halovino™ drinkware’s added “head space” above the wine, made possible by the open top lid, results in less spills.
Non-glass events and venues often have space limitations, whether it is a cooler, backpack or purse on a boat, in a tent or in the trunk of a car.
HaloVino™ glasses stack and nest so tightly that a sleeve of 12 HaloVino™ glasses occupy less shelf space than a bottle of wine (less than 12 inches high), while traditional stemless wine glasses, with their narrow rims and wide bases, occupy four times as much space!
Cost-Saving (Disposable) Price
All other shatterproof goblet-shaped alternatives in the market cost at least double and up to twenty times the retail price of HaloVino™ glassware.
Halovino™ drinkware is the ONLY shatterproof, goblet-shaped wine glasses, retailing for under $1.00.
At this low price, you can feel good about REUSING or RECYCLING your glass.
This Kickstarter campaign will be the ONLY retail opportunity to purchase these glasses until 2017. We plan to place the glasses in select stadiums in 2016 before developing the retail market the following year. We hope you become a backer so you are well-stocked for all your outdoor wine drinking needs in 2016!
Please help us bring HaloVino™ glassware to market by becoming a backer, and sharing this with your friends and family on Facebook and other social media.
Two years ago, shortly after being asked to present wines at an event with no access to glassware, I slumped into a rocker to feed my 3-month old.
I was exhausted. With a newborn and a three year old, I was still running my wine business. The thought of lugging and cleaning hundreds of glasses gave me morning sickness all over again. The alternative of serving good-valued wine in plastic cups, however, seemed equally unappealing.
As I sat there feeding Roger, I became frustrated, thinking, “there’s got to be a better way.” Hoping Roger would fall asleep, I sat quietly and started to mentally construct the perfect wine glass for non-glass venues. HaloVino™ was born.
I have been immersed in the wine business for over a decade, but had never once explored developing a shatterproof wine glass, until I found myself the working mother of two young kids. My heightened need for efficiency at work coupled with nursing my baby, supplied just the right mix of desperation for change and quiet time for contemplation. Roger’s presence created the “perfect storm” for HaloVino™’s creation.
About a year into product development, Roger started experiencing neurological problems. My life, including any work on HaloVino™, came to a halt for about six months, as he underwent a battery of test to rule out cancer, tumors, strokes, meningitis and other imminently fatal causes. MRIs, CT scans, Xrays, spinal taps, ultrasounds, doctor visits, hospital stays, blood tests… all on this little body that just a month ago was thriving.
At one especially low point, as we paced the hospital hallways while they scanned Roger’s tiny sedated 16-month body for tumors, I promised myself that if Roger became well enough for me to return to and successfully launch HaloVino™ into the market, I would show my gratitude by pledging a significant portion of our profits to improving the lives of children with cancer and debilitating genetic diseases. Having only experienced a fraction of what already too many families suffer, I became determined to shine light on the lives of sick children, and “Fill Roger’s Cup” to the brim with proceeds from a successful HaloVino™ business.
About six months ago, we found out Roger has an extremely rare genetic disorder. Although Roger still experiences neurological challenges on a daily basis, he was well enough for me to return to developing HaloVino™ glassware. The anticipated joy of making a difference in a cause so dear to me, all while working on a product that I love, believe in, and for which I see such a need, has been the motivation to continue on when the work seemed insurmountable and life, overwhelming.
Please help me make HaloVino™ glassware a success, by simply enjoying wine in your favorite non-glass venues with HaloVino™ glassware. Each purchase will contribute to improving the lives and prognoses of sick children one glass of wine at a time! Thank you for your support!
I have spent the better part of the last two years developing the perfect design, and establishing solid relationships for tooling and manufacturing.
After seven 3-D printed prototypes, we have finalized the design, are ready to complete the tooling, and start US-based manufacturing of HaloVino™ glassware NOW.
Below is a conservative production timeline. I will be entirely transparent and forthcoming regarding our progress throughout the process.
Risks and challenges
SLIGHT AESTHETIC and FUNCTIONAL UPGRADES
What you are seeing are prototypes, so please expect the final product to be slightly different. Even as the Kickstarter campaign is ongoing, we continue to make aesthetic upgrades to the cup, such as the premeasured 3, 4, 5 and 6-oz fill lines, which will also serve to improve grip and aesthetics.
Building even simple plastic items is a detailed process requiring 3D modeling, precise tooling, modifications to the molds and constant edits. We have spent thousands of dollars on printing seven three-dimensional prototypes to avoid any delay during tooling and molding; however, some modifications are not foreseeable until we make the mold. We feel strongly functionality will not be affected, but delays are a possibility.
COMMUNICATION WITH BACKERS
We pledge to communicate with our backers on a regular and timely basis in a completely transparent manner throughout the entire process.
KICKSTARTER and “BACKERS” EXPECTATIONS
Finally, please remember, Kickstarter campaigns are not online stores, but rather a way to invest in the development and execution of novel ideas.
Thank you for supporting HaloVino™ glassware! We couldn’t do this without you!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
