Once upon a time there was a boy… When Jesse Aycock was 11 he wanted nothing more than to go to the Black Crowes concert that was coming to the Brady Theater, just down the block from where he lived. His wish came true when his dad showed up with two tickets, one for Jesse and one for himself. Jesse now describes that experience as magic, life changing. And it did change his life. From then on, Jesse set out to become a singer/songwriter/musician.
Fast forward 18 years. Jesse has completed 2 CDs of his own and worked on countless CDs for other musicians. Through a series of serendipitous events and a long string of general good fortune, Jesse has had the opportunity to get to know and play music with some of his favorite musicians, Neal Casal ( of the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Ryan Adams ) and George Sluppick ( Chris Robinson Brotherhood).
As fortune would have it George called Jesse the other day and asked “ What are you doin’ for the next couple of months?” Long story short, both George Sluppick and fellow band member Neal Cssal are coming to town to work on Jesse's project, a new CD of Jesse’s songs. Jesse has booked the Church Studio ( formerly Leon Russell’s private studio) for 2 weeks and put 2 plane tickets on his credit card which is now nearly maxed out. Jesse must provide food and lodging, studio time, equipment rental , production costs, and more, plus he will not be working for 2 weeks so will have no income coming in to pay his usual expenses. Since this dropped in his lap very recently, we didn’t figure we had enough time to raise all the needed cash so we are setting the goal at $2,500. Any overage will still go towards the expenses of the project. This is where you all come in. Help make this fairy tale beginning have a happy ending.
