Welcome to LOVELAND's second round of public inchvestment through Kickstarter! Get your inchgines ready.
The rules are simple: for every dollar you inchvest you get a square inch of space in LOVELAND, Detroit to do what you please with. The first 25,000 inches will be part of the Plymouth colony of LOVELAND and currently exist in my studio at the Russell Industrial Center. In the future your inches will move to a bigger space and gain additional features through The Inchernet.
LOVELAND is a work in progress with the objective of creating a tiny new globally networked city in the city of Detroit, Michigan on a grid of a million real square inches (about 85' x 85') along with an accompanying "Inchernet" to see and interact with the inches online. In the future these tools will expand for use in other projects beyond inches. Experience the simultaneous miracles of tiny property ownership, collective creative freedom, and the satisfaction of being a pioneering inchvestor in an incheresting idea that's crazy enough to work.
Much more can be learned at http://makeloveland.com and http://7billionfriends.com. You can also follow LOVELAND on Twitter at http://twitter.com/makeloveland. So far nearly 170 people have claimed nearly 3,000 future inches, with the largest inchvestor so far claiming 1,000 inches. Thinking inside the inch is the new thinking outside the box. Have a listen to a recent interview about the project on Pirate Cat Radio.
Feel completely free to call me on the phone at 908-343-1981 to talk about the project. You can see the first round of inches archived here.
Be good, be proud, be in LOVELAND,

Standard disclaimer: There are many experimental aspects to this project and how exactly the LOVELAND grid will ultimately look and work are being figured out as we go along. You promise not to sue me or otherwise get me in trouble, and I promise to be awesome. Thanks!
PS The title of this Kickstarter goal is [update: was :)] a play on an old song by Donovan, First There Is A Mountain, Then There Is No Mountain, Then There Is. My friend Steve says I need an inchervention for my inchisms, but I told him I don't have a problem, I can stop inchy time.
