I've had so much fun doing these 15 minute art challenges that I thought it would be nice to collect them all in a little 24 (28) page zine.
Originals are up for grabs!
Normally I would only sell prints, but to make this whole thing more interesting (for all of us), I'm willing to sell all the originals too! Check out the rewards to see the exact price. Originals available listed here: www.jensk.net/lastbreath
What is the 15 Minute Art Challenge?
I first read about it on Mr Jay Myer's blog, it's as simple as this:
Time yourself drawing for 15 minutes. Then stop.
It's a brilliant exercise, and I've found that (just as with the 24 hour challenge) I get surprised/amazed by what comes out. The strong limitations of the concept releases a "flow", some sort of spontanous creative rush, that I really want to be exploring more.
Filming and documentation
I've made a simple cardboard tripod for my phone so that I can film the drawing of each piece in stop-motion. These little movies will be published as we go along, on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc.
Keeping track of available originals
I've made a simple page on my personal site to keep track of available originals: www.jensk.net/lastbreath
I've done around half of these by now, everything has been filmed and is documented on my Instagram and/or Twitter-account. It would take some time to create all 24 of them, but hopefully it will be ready by August this year. The printers will need a couple of weeks, so I guess launch in September would be realistic.
I've been thinking (for a while) about doing an oil-painted cover. Would be a nice contrast to the speedy drawings. So I spent the last weekend of this campaign painting and I think I got it nailed:
If you guys want this to happen, let's go for it!
