I want to take my Etsy shop to the next level by producing mugs with my designs on. I'm raising funds to purchase a mug press, a sublimation printer, and the blank mugs to get started.
My style is colourful and fun and I hope you'll find a mug you'd like to hold in your hands or gift to someone special!
- The images are mostly mock-ups as I haven't got the mug press yet, but I'll endeavour to get the finished article looking perfect!
I've been drawing and creating all my life, and though I've never studied art my Mum is a talented artist who always encouraged me. I've only recently learnt to use Adobe illustrator and gained confidence with my drawings.
I opened my Jennifer Grace Creates Etsy Shop in February this year (2016) and I'm loving it. I ordered some mugs with my designs on which sold well, but now I want to be able to produce them myself. This is partly because I'm a perfectionist and I want to be able to quality control every step, and also because I'd like to offer personalisation which I'd need to be able to make when needed.
I have 18 unique designs, plus some that can be personalised, which you can pre-order as a reward. Then as long as my campaign is successful I'd be able to order the items I need and produce all the mugs that were ordered. I hope to have them all shipped by the end of November, so that they can be given as Christmas gifts!
The mugs that's I'm choosing to buy as the blank mugs are high quality and will be dishwasher and microwave safe. You can choose either an full-size mug or a child-size mug - the full-size are 92mm high by 80mm diameter, and the child-size are 78mm tall by 73mm diameter. They will be packaged carefully using recyclable materials where possible.
If you want to see any of the mugs in a larger photo just click the 'ask a question' or 'contact' button to let me know.
If you'd love to support my campaign but don't want a mug right now, you could also pledge to receive one of these badge sets which I currently sell in my Etsy shop:
The badges are approx 25mm (1") in diameter and have a sharp pin on the back, so are unsuitable for children. They are a fun accessory for a bag or jacket!
Thank you for checking out my campaign. If you want any items in a combination that's not already available as a reward let me know, as I can add another reward to your specifications. If you have any other questions do ask me that too!
Risks and challenges
There are a couple of potential risks to me getting the mugs completed on time. The supplier I'm planning to purchase from could run out of some of the supplies I need, hopefully I'd be able to purchase them elsewhere, but I want to make sure they are high quality so I may have to wait for the right supplies.
I'm already prepared for the fact that it's going to take a bit of practice before the mugs come out perfectly, which is why I've allowed 6 weeks between the end of the campaign and when I hope to dispatch all the mugs by. I've also limited the number of rewards so I don't get swamped.
I might have to wait to hear back from the survey for buyers to find out their mug choices and delivery addresses.
The only other issues could be family life or illness getting in the way, but I have my husband who is very supportive and willing to help, plus some friends that will pitch in if needed!
I am confident that I am a hard worker and will be doing my very best to send out fabulous mugs on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
