WATER WITH LEMON is a mockumentary that follows the employees of the fictitious restaurant, "Bar Basta."
Where did the title come from? "Excuse me, can I get lemon? For my water." I want to know: WHO CUTS SLICES OF LEMON FOR EVERY GLASS OF WATER AT HOME? Dedicated to Travis J. Wright - server for 17 years who had always wanted a show titled, "Water with Lemon."
Josh Sugarman is directing the series, written by Jenna Laurenzo.
WATER WITH LEMON will shoot in NYC in August 2012, capturing many of the ridiculous aspects of working in a restaurant. The scripts were written around TRUE stories and scenarios. If you're offended, so are we, THE SERVERS. And if you see a character and/or a scenario that seems remarkable similar to your dining experience, it might be about you. At the very least, it'll shed some light while poking fun.
PLEASE help us out. If we don't reach our funding goal, we don't get a cent. WATER WITH LEMON will bring awareness to the general public, about how annoying they are to wait on. It's said with love though, for without the nuances of the restaurant patrons, we'd be without the inspiration to tell this story. In all seriousness, we hope to make you laugh.
We're shooting the first 5 episodes (each about 5 minutes long, intended for web). Cut together they'll create a half hour pilot episode. We need money for crew, locations, food, coffee, etc. Every dollar helps!
For bios of cast and crew, donate, receive updates, and keep coming back for info. We'll be providing new information as time ticks and we continue getting closer to our funding goal.
Thanks for taking the time to read. We look forward to serving you...if and only if you're not a royal pain in the ass. We look forward to entertaining you...always.
