So question... have you ever had one SUPER meaningful gift that would "work" for any occasion?
I didn't set out with this in mind, but it's been so fun to see the variety of occasions people have used the Hope Deck for:
- Teacher gifts
- Seasons of suffering, grief and loss
- Mothers/Father's Day
- New baby/pregnancy
- Thinking of you
- Thank you gifts for customers, board of directors, donors, etc.
What's the story behind the Hope Deck?
For those of you who don't know me, I’m Jen Gordon, an Atlanta-based graphic designer and momma who went through a helluva time over the past few years. Last fall I designed these postcards as a thank you gift for friends who walked with me through this very sad season. Each friend sent me their favorite Bible verse and I designed a card for each. The response to the gift was delightful. I was encouraged to make the cards into a “real product” - establish a brand, etc. – and the result is what you see today – the Hope Deck!
There are 32 uniquely designed postcards and 5 Love Notes inside. :)
Why run a Kickstarter?
The purpose of this Kickstarter is to raise funds for the printing, finishing, collation, shrink-wrapping and bagging of the Hope Deck. My goal is to run a quantity large enough that allows retailers to make a fair margin and therefore want to stock it!
How much do you need Jen?
To achieve the goal of selling to retailers, I need to run a quantity of 20,000 decks for a cost of (rounded) $36,000.
My goal for this Kickstarter is to raise $15,000 which after credit card processing and Kickstarter fees will cover approximately a third of the printing costs. My stretch goal is to cover the full amount - we'll see what God does! :)
How many can I buy?
You can buy as many as you want (if you want more than 20,000 let me know :P). I segmented the rewards because the shipping costs are less (per piece) at a higher quantity.
Ways to use the deck
It's so fun to receive photos and notes from those who giving and receiving blessing from the cards!
Risks and challenges
The only possible delay could be with assembling all of the decks, depending on the level of participation in this Kickstarter.
My goal is to deliver the decks by the first week of November at the latest. If there will be any delay, you will be notified in advance!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
