A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
As flagship smartphones continue to get bigger, more complicated and increasingly fragile, they don't necessarily meet the demands of active outdoor lifestyles.
We previously designed Jelly, and now we are taking that concept and pushing the limits to the next level with Atom - an IP68 certified rugged outdoor phone with 4G compatibility. It is waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof, making it is the perfect phone for your outdoor adventures, business trips, and daily life.
The mini-sized design doesn't diminish the powerful features of Atom. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and includes an Octa-core CPU, fingerprint scanner, NFC features and Corning Gorilla Glass.
Hands On Review
Check this Atom durability test from Youtube Channel JerryRigEverything, Atom is reviewed by Zack Nelson, the great and famous technology enthusiast from Utah, United States. Thanks so much for his awesome work!
As a full-function smartphone in a tiny size, Atom is perfect for hiking, biking, running or any outdoor activities.
We also designed 3 useful Atom accessories to make it more convenient to carry: bike mount, armband, and belt clip.
Dual SIM Cards & Universal 4G Band
Dual SIM cards is a standard feature for many Android phones but the secondary card usually operates on the slower GSM network. Atom is different, it supports both SIM cards on the extremely fast 4G network (3G if you have not upgraded to 4G yet).
Technically, Atom can work over any 4G network and we have tested it on most of the major mobile carriers` networks.
Wanna a shortcut button for your favorite functions? Not a problem with Atom`s programmable key. Taking photos, setting alarm, opening App, or any function you`d like to open in a simple tap.
The Fingerprint scanner provides more security for your phone and makes it fast and easy to unlock the screen to take important calls or capture a memorable moment with one of Atom’s high-quality cameras.
Atom’s convenient NFC features allow you to instantly make payments on the go at thousands of retailers and online stores.
USB On-The-Go (OTG)
Atom is USB OTG compatible, and you can transfer data/photos to other devices & much more.
In order to show our great gratitude to Loyal Jelly fans, if you back Atom via the Same Kickstarter Account that you used to back Jelly Project last year, we will send you One Extra Exclusive Backpack Clip for Each Atom you pledge for FREE !!!
Risks and challenges
With our years of experience in the cellphone manufacturing industry, we are very confident with our process and production schedule for Unihertz Atom. It isn’t our first time around the block and we have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
However, we also know that hidden obstacles and challenges often occur. Because of that, we’ve made sure to account for some amount of craziness or unforeseen problems that may occur in our schedule. If something does go wrong, we promise to keep our backers updated and informed about any issues and about the way in which we are solving them.
