Looking forward to the playable demo and to continuing this project. Jeff, you and the whole team have done an outstanding job and I thank you. Riddle has always been a vivid memory for me and I know that it will have great success again in the near future. I'm so certain of this that I am going to triple what I originally pledged the next time we start up. Keep up the good work, and see you all again very soon!!

      @James Taylor:

Thank you, James. That is a very encouraging note and thank you for your continued support. We are feeling very good about going forward. We learned a lot.

    3. James Taylor on May 16, 2014

Don't lose heart, Jeff. You'll get this funded the next time around! Thanks for sending out that thoughtful message to backers. I think your idea of creating a demo is a great one. Giving people an opportunity to go hands on with what you're creating will definitely get more people excited and should lead to more pledges. I'm looking forward to being a part of your next campaign.

    4. Khatie on May 15, 2014

I'll share this again with my contacts. We need more backers! One week to go! :)

    5. Gary Coughlin on May 7, 2014

Hey Jeff, I was comparing your screenshots to actual photos on google and they were fantastic. Everything looked very accurate and had a lot of detail. I think leaving out the graffiti was a good choice.

I also came across this virtual tour which was really cool too, I thought I would share it.

    6. Jeff Tobler 2-time creator on May 7, 2014

Hi Monk :) Pesky? I think not. We love you all and appreciate the wonderful support and community you've brought with you. We have taken years researching these monuments and the details of construction, materials, etc. in the Great Pyramid, it is exacting as we could make it but we chose NOT to include the graffiti currently defacing the walls. In the fictional parts of the game we recreated many famous artifacts to the details. Others are inspired by actual finds. So, I think it will be a pleasant experience for you.

Sorry ! Another pesky Obduction supporter.
Your game might not be my cup of tea ( I could be wrong about that ) but the other half loves everything Egyptian. Is the visuals close to the real thing or have you used/going to use a bit of poet license ?

    8. Dianne Phipps on May 7, 2014

I am so excited for you and the team I just know that this will be a winner
so here is wishing and your team lots and lots of luck.
cant wait to play your wonderful game.

      @Ian Hibbert:

Thanks, Ian. We are very excited about how the environments are looking in real-time 3d — we think you'll love the new version that much more.

Brian, we are so thankful for the support thus far! If we can keep up the momentum we will meet our goal. It's looking hopeful :)

Ken, we feel the same way - this is possible thanks to everyone who has backed thus far and thanks to our friends at CYAN for posting about our project - it's been a huge boost for us!

wow. I would never of thought that kickstarter would lead me back to some of the most enjoyable games I have ever played. I have to say that Myst by cyan was were my love for these kind of games started and to see them being refreshed and updated is an absolute delight. I cant wait for ROTS and to also try Cyans new creations as well.

I'm going to have no time for life at this rate. lol. just gameing.

    15. Ken on May 6, 2014

I was a little concerned a couple of days ago about this project not making it. I'm feeling better now that the Obduction crew is coming through. I posted on URU forum for help but CYAN really helped with there statement in there last update for Obduction. We can do this, this new ROTS looks to good to let go.

Have just received an update from cyan about their obduction kickstarter. In that update they suggested checking this project out. Very happy to back this and hopeful other obduction backers will join the ranks here too.

Jeff, will you be putting up some icons, as this may help with advertising this game around kickstarter. I would very happy to change mine to help the cause.

      @Marcia Karen Kane:

Marcia, thank you for your support- and hello from Karen and I :) spread the word to whomever you can. We need more momentum to meet our goal. But your pledge and the pledges of others are getting us there - THANK YOU!

Just backed this game, I told my mum who is a great fan of this game (as am I) and she was over the moon. I Had to make a pledge because she is now hanging out to play it again in all its new 3D glory, lol.

      on May 2, 2014

ok that's great, thanks for considering it,
but updating them will cost too much and would "distract" from the present project, right?
and if it is too much work and trouble, do not offer them, as long as it would be too much time consuming

don't know, think about it with calm..

    26. Jeff Tobler 2-time creator on May 1, 2014

Sir Jordi, excellent suggestion. We should be able to offer Riddle classic and The Omega Stone as digital rewards and/or add-ons, but they both need updating. The original/classic version of Riddle is slated for an HD update (hi-res screens), and optimized for the latest Mac OS X (once again) and Win platforms. We would not be able to offer Linux for these older games, but ROTS 3D is slated to be on Linux, as well as Mac/Win/Tablet. We'll think this through and post something soon.

    27. Sir Jordi
      on April 30, 2014

talking about those past games...why not a tier that include them as a digital rewards?
or why not offer them as an add-on?

    28. Sir Jordi
      on April 30, 2014

Interesting adventure, it reminds me a lot of the good-old Cryo days
      so I'm in!

    29. Bob Gardner on April 30, 2014

Riddle of the Sphinx was one of the first adventure games I ever played. I was so submerged in the game that I lost all track of time and even place. The atmosphere in the first game was so captivating that I can't even imagine what the 3D version will be like. I'll probably have to clean the sand out of my shoes after playing! I can't wait! Thanks so much for taking this on.

    30. Ken on April 30, 2014

I'm looking forward to playing the new ROTS. I played the original and liked it very much can't wait.

oh, if you plan on putting them on your store, i can wait till then. no need to go into extra trouble ;)
thank you for though! Hope u can release then on GoG one day, got so many of the oldies once more through it.

    33. Jeff Tobler 2-time creator on April 27, 2014

Alex, I could send you the copies. Our new site doesn't have them on the store just yet, so I will either get the store active or we could just do paypal. The windows versions are the only ones we have currently. Will that work?

      Alex on April 27, 2014

I sincerely hope this project gets funded, I loved the story of the game.
If I may ask, is there a website now that I can buy the 2 original games (TRotS and The Omega Stone) in digital format?

    35. Jeff Tobler 2-time creator on April 27, 2014

Great question! We are planning on localizing ROTS 3D into French, as well as others, but it will depend on meeting our funding goals. Spread the word and help us make the goal.

    36. Grover on April 27, 2014

Very excited by this project as I never played the original ROTS!
      Any chances for French localization?

    37. Gary Coughlin on April 25, 2014

Never played it, but I am a huge fan of these types of games and the screenshots and video looks really good, so I'm in for sure.

    38. K R Parkinson (GalvanicSpiral) on April 24, 2014

Very cool stuff. The original doesn't play too well with modern Windows systems, so an update would really be awesome. RotS is what got me into adventure games in the first place, so exploring in realtime (with classic navigation mode on, of course :-) ) will be a treat-and-a-half.

      Can't wait!

    39. Matt Veenstra on April 24, 2014

Can't wait to see the new ROTS. Loved the first.

Wow! So good to learn I will be able to enjoy Riddle of the Sphinx in Real-time 3D. I was privileged to play the game when you first put it out, but this should be wonderful. I loved the game before and with the added enhancements I can't wait to play it. Pat T.
