First Glimpse: Casting Call for What Sharp Teeth
As our superb supporters, you get to see our casting call first! Please feel free to share it with anyone you wish.
NOW CASTING: A dark & Freudian adventure, set in a dark & Freudian wood - come and be part of Jeff Mach’s storybook rock opera! We are seeking 3 singers who can act, to be part of a fractured fairytale. We are casting with an eye for diversity - people of all ages, genders, abilities, and backgrounds are encouraged to apply for all roles. You do not need to have a formal background in musical theatre/rock opera, fairytale lore, or Steampunk... only a passion for them, as we do!
Roles are as follows:
Red - “And there’s a voice inside of me, that craves the dark and spurns the light; I’ve never listened to that voice - But someday I might…” Red is very much a reluctant ingenue - trying very hard to be sugar and spice and everything nice. But Red is not very good at being good, and will wander off the path at the slightest provocation.
The Crocodile - “...He had that lean and hungry look, but he was lacking in style - Precisely unlike me: your humble servant, The Crocodile!” The Big Bad Wolf was no match for the bigger, badder Crocodile! Suave, charismatic, and determined, this reptile knows what they believe and what they want.
The Narrator - “So forgive me if I hurt you, if I betray your trust… But my allegiance is the story, and I must tell it as I must.” The Narrator has a job to do, a tale to tell, and an idea of just how things should go. Unfortunately for them, things aren’t always what they seem, and the story has other ideas...
What Sharp Teeth is being performed at Wicked Faire: Reborn, Feb 2-4 2018, and at the 2018 Steampunk World's Fair, May 4-6. Auditions will take place on September 30th in Northern NJ, and October 1st in Midtown Manhattan. If you are unable to audition in person, email to arrange a Skype audition.
Rehearsals will commence in November.
