Hi, I'm Jonathan Daniel Brown. I'm an actor who you may have seen in Project X, Kid Cannabis, and most recently The Final Wish. I also wrote and directed the award-winning short film Horseshoe Theory. I've lived a pretty wild life. I spent my 20s doing stand-up comedy, sold scripts that never got made, lost 75 pounds, got involved in some activism, and generally stirred a lot of shit, making LOTS of mistakes (and burning some bridges) in the process.
My new show will have comedians, musicians, Marxist theorists, mental health experts, drug dealers, ex-cons, psychedelic shamans, fitness nuts, professional fighters, game developers, anime obsessives, porn stars, tech weirdos, journalists, comic book artists, guilty ass ex-Trump and Hillary supporters, filmmakers, actors, writers, painters, and freaks and outsiders and fuckups galore. We're here to celebrate the weirdness and flaws of people, not to cast them away with fire and brimstone.
I hope you'll join me on this new journey. We're gonna have a lot of fun!

As I've learned with Struggle Session, starting a podcast is not as cheap as it looks. I need 3500 dollars to upgrade my equipment, pay guests, license music, and to generally maintain stability while I start this new project. If we exceed our goal, I may be be able to incorporate video into the show!
$550: Two more Shure Beta 87A Microphones with Aux Cables.
$600: A Rodecaster mixer (Will pair great with my Zoom H6)
$450: Three pairs of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones.
$600: An annual subscription to the Adobe Creative Suite
$1300: Time and labor costs. Paying guests and licensing intro and outro music This will also allow me to not take on any new editing clients so I can dedicate myself full-time to the podcast for the next few months.
Shortly after this Kickstarter campaign is completed, we will launch a Patreon, Ko-Fi, and begin pushing live shows and meetups in LA through Kickstarter. As part of a tiny community of people interested in Left politics, it's very important that we spend time together as human beings, not just on Discord, Slack,Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit.
Those who donate a certain amount will also receive a free ticket to the LA Premiere of my next short film, THE WHALE, which should be ready by the end of the year or early next year.
Risks and challenges
If the goal isn't met, then after 5 months of Struggle Session severance, I won't be able to make independent podcasts anymore. I've grown very close with some cool as hell people in the indie audio community over the past two years and I'd like to continue that work!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
