VAMPIRE, PA: BITE OUT OF CRIME
Dean, Scuba Dave and Dee Dee are back with their ongoing crusade to rid suburban Pittsburgh of the undead. Standing in their way, as always, is vampire queen Jocelyn and a new challenger to her power…
Could it actually be Al Capone?!?
Find out in this brand new Vampire, PA one-shot that’s packed with 28 pages of story and art with additional bonus features! There might be one ad (on the back cover), but that's it!
Ever since the original mini-series (collected in our Vampire, PA: Pittsburgh Noir trade paperback), fans have wanted more of the vampire war in Dormont, Pennsylvania, and now it's here...
Our goal, with your help, is to deliver a brand new, 32-page comic book by the original creative team with some superstar cover artists, accompanied by some great additional rewards for our supporters!
Artists Brendon and Brian Fraim, letterer Marshall Dillon and producer Michael Solof have reteamed with creator-writer J.C. Vaughn and the colorists of House Imagi to launch the Vampire, PA: Bite Out of Crime one-shot.
They're joined by cover artists Billy Tucci (Shi: The Way of the Warrior), Asha Kishna (Zombie-Sama), and Neil Vokes (The Wicked West), and the Fraim Bros. also have a cover available based on the first image done for this special!
Our rewards range from digital copies to Billy Tucci's one-of-a-kind cover artwork!
There are packages with all four covers of Vampire, PA: Bite Out of Crime, mini-prints, trade paperback, original artwork from Brendon and Brian Fraim, and more!
Since YOU are the ones who make this happen, we have tried include something for every budgetary range.
Single-issue comics are offered postage-included in the United States!
ALL physical rewards will be accompanied by additional, unannounced bonus rewards!
ALL physical rewards can be autographed by J.C. Vaughn at no additional charge!
A number of the rewards packages include copies of our first trade paperback collection, Vampire, PA: Pittsburgh Noir. This book includes the original three-issue VPA series, the short story "Vampire Hunter Dean," which inspired the series, a complete cover gallery, and two bonus pieces illustrated by Brendon and Brian Fraim.
Vampire, PA: Pittsburgh Noir was offered with a choice of three covers. The Standard cover was painted by interior color artist Mark Wheatley (Doctor Cthulittle). The Kickstarter Exclusive cover was illustrated by Brendon & Brian Fraim with colors by Brian Miller/Hi-Fi. The Convention Edition cover, which comes autographed by the whole VPA team, was illustrated by Billy Tucci and colored by Wes Hartman.
We've added a new reward at the $500 level (and quite frankly, if you take a look at it you'll see that it's steal): Brendon & Brian Fraim’s original art for an incredible, highly detailed two-page spread from Vampire, PA: Bite Out of Crime!
This amazing art comes with all four cover versions of VPA: Bite Out of Crime one-shot, mini-prints of all four covers, the digital copy of VPA: Bite Out of Crime with bonus content, and three VPA bookmarks.
And c'mon, it's got Dean, Dee Dee, Scuba Dave, a bazillion vampires, Jocelyn and Al Capone! Where else are you going to get a two-page spread like that!

Risks and challenges
We learned quite a bit doing the Vampire, PA trade paperback last year. All of our physical rewards were mailed out on time (and in most cases well ahead of schedule). What should have been the easiest part, though, the digital edition, got sidelined by a family member's stroke and follow-up. So, while things do happen, we have back-ups in place this time. Vampire, PA: Bite Out of Crime is written, penciled, inked, colored, and lettered. The bonus text pages are done. The design work for the inside front cover is done. The only part of this book that is not already completed is the Thank-You Page for our Kickstarter supporters, which will be on the inside back cover. Other than that, it’s ready to roll. In the event that we are able to implement any cover enhancements due to extremely favorable performance by this Kickstarter project (that would be a good thing), we have ace designer and former Marvel Bullpen member Dawn Guzzo standing by to handle them, so we don’t think that would delay us even a bit. Additionally, as soon as the surveys are filled out, the digital edition will be delivered to the publisher and sent out to all eligible supporters, even while we're waiting for the physical copies.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
