7/20/2015 That's a Wrap!!

Thank You ALL for your support and helping us successfully fund our Kickstarter. It's been a great ride, keep up with our Facebook page for more updates on the movies progress!

In an effort to create a machine capable of holding time in place, three friends/fledging scientists discover their creation doesn’t work as intended; instead, opening a doorway to another world on the verge of collapse.

Set in the beautiful backdrop of Montana, From Yesterday is a film that challenges philosophical views on life, choice, and love. Here are the first three pages of our completed screenplay.

Now we come to the part where we ask for money. But don't worry: we aren't sticking out our hands and jiggling a cup in hopes of spare change. All of us are here to produce a professional product and we want YOU to be part of the epic journey! Funds from donations will go to a plethora of expenses including food, transportation, production design, equipment rentals, special effects makeup, and festival fees.

Check out all the different perk options to see what fits best for you! To give you an idea of what we have to offer, here are some of our more popular choices:

  • Signed copies of the movie poster, the production script, and Blu Rays
  • Access to behind the scenes footage.
  • A Sneak peak at some of the storyboards so you can see how the scenes are going to turn out!
  • Finally, two extremely generous donors will be given custom bead work from Morgan Kuntz. Handcrafted at every stage, any leather craft accessory you want! Examples include bracelets and belts. We will get you in contact with Morgan and you can discuss with her what you want in terms of design! It is truly a custom, one of a kind creation.

Remember, even if we receive 799$, we won't be able to use any donations and the film can't be finished. We're counting on your support to successfully fund this film on time.

UPDATE 6/27/2015

Once again, we can't thank our backers enough for helping us reach our $800 funding minimum. However, we're still shooting a feature film and have a lot more than 800$ in expenses to cover. We would like to reach a stretch goal of $3000 in order to cover all the costs associated with producing and finishing the film. Take a look at our budget breakdown to see how we've spent our money. Remember, the typical indie feature runs around $750,000* to make, thats 250X our budget.

Jace Kuntz - Director/Writer

An award-winning poet from the wilds of Montana, Jace Kuntz has dedicated his life to creating for audiences. A fiddle player since the age of six, he has taken part in many creative opportunities and has won awards for his musical merit including: two time National FFA Talent Competition participant, two time Montana All-State Choir member, and performing in Jamestown, Virginia to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the landing there. He career as a filmmaker began after being inspired by the photography of Nikki Sixx. After that, he went out and bought a DSLR - beginning his journey of photography and filmmaking. With the goal of bringing more filmmaking to Montana, he has had his sights set on producing a feature in his native town of Dillon for many years.

The writer and director of From Yesterday, he has been very serious about creating the best story he can including bringing the screenplay to professionals in the industry to get their opinions and working with other filmmakers to help develop the vision.

Jacki Colombari - Producer

A native of New Jersey, Jacki began her film studies during high school after a decade long interest in theatre and dance. Following her passion for art to Chicago, she is currently earning her Bachelors of Science in Digital Cinema, as well as her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience. After extensive experience working as a producer, production assistant, and even a makeup artist on short films, she is eager to begin principal photography on From Yesterday, her first feature film.

Ryan Croft - Cinematographer

An award-winning cinematographer from Chicago, Ryan Croft has led teams of cinematographers and audio technicians on several productions, from political campaigns to live performances to feature length films. Some of his work has received press from one of the largest film sites, firstshowing.net. His sense of visual style, story, and character helps exemplify what this team is really about.

Veronica Malesinski - 1st AD

Award-winning filmmaker, Veronica Malesinski, is currently majoring in Digital Cinema with a concentration of Documentary Production at DePaul University's School of Cinema and Interactive Media. Television Student of the Year, Producer of the Year, Speech Arts Merit Recipient, Senior Service Recipient, MEHS Broadcasting Scholarship Recipient, her work has been showcased and has won awards at film festivals such as the All-American High School Film Festival and the Chicagoland Television Educators Council Film Festival. Veronica has served as the Special Projects Manager/Live Streaming Coordinator for WMTH-TV, and she has also produced for HighSchool Cube. Currently she serves as a creative director for the Sports Marketing Team at DePaul University.

His most recent music video for California based Eventide was featured on Good Music All Day, the #1 College Music Website in America.

Theresa Ferrell - Sound/BTS

Born and raised outside of Seattle, Theresa’s interest in film stems from her involvement in photography. What started out as a hobby has become a profession with a strong client base and years of experience. From senior photos, to weddings, and now films, she pours her heart and soul into the digital arts and is always finding new ways to incorporate her skills.

August Busch - Production Sound

Internationally received musician, award-winning writer, and production sound recordist from Michigan, August Busch has organized production sound setups on many films in the Chicago area and worked on many professional live music events throughout his career. He has performed with renowned musicians such as Matt Glaser (soundtrack for the Ken Burns documentary The Civil War), the Lonesome River Band, and Mark O’Connor (critically acclaimed violinist, fiddler, and composer). He is a crucial member of this film crew as his skills are needed to capture the highest quality audio on set and in post-production.

The Actors

Corey Renfree - Jaden

Playing the part of Jaden is Corey Renfree. No stranger to acting, he has been performing on stage for over a decade, starting out in the Missoula Children's Theater. Since those days, he has gone on to acting camps and has been blessed with a plethora lead roles and successful campaigns during high school in Speech and Drama.

A jack of many trades, he is also the lead singer of a local Montana band, Climax Community, and is even writing the music for the feature, which has been sampled in the teaser video. Performing is his passion and acting in front of the camera is just one of many ways he can indulge in it.

Always looking to challenge himself, Corey has also had successful endeavors in sports such as baseball, which he has played for longer than he has even acted. This commitment to the past-time has allowed him to be a starter on numerous All-Star teams and has appeared in State Championships.

Excited to stretch his acting muscles, Corey has put in many hours of hard work and practice to prepare himself for this role.

Andrea Garneata - Marie

Cast in the role of Marie is Andrea Garneata. Hailing from Chicago, her and our 1st AD, Veronica, have a professional relationship that has spanned many years, making her an obvious choice to be a part of the production. Graduating high school early, Andrea is pursuing a career as a TV host. She has plenty of practice as she is also a YouTuber who has amassed over one hundred and fifty thousand views on her channel.

Her experience in acting spans across many short films done throughout the city of Chicago. The role of Marie will be her second major role. Her first being "the girlfriend" in a Tribeca short film.

John Bodnar - Moby

The role of Moby belongs to John Bodnar. A National Merit Scholar, John has been a part of many of Jace Kuntz's creative projects over the years. A veteran of the theater, John has excelled in the many roles he has been given throughout his lifetime. A multi-instrumentalist, he is the drummer of Climax Community and has traveled across the country, performing in places such as Indianapolis for the National FFA Talent Competition. Though unable to read sheet music, John has written and produced many original piano scores and is even helping some in the creation of the soundtrack for the feature.

We're in the process of shooting the first feature film shot solely on the Panasonic GH4 and the Ronin M Gimbal. Some of the lenses that are being used include the SLR Magic Hyper Prime Cine 2 and Vintage Cannon FD Glass. Post Production will be done in the Adobe Suite with a plan to color in DaVinci Resolve 11 (12?). This film, along with its innovative and complex story line, aims to break new ground in the Indie film scene through the use of a Mirrorless Camera. With three GH4's on set, our crew has been able to shoot in unconventional locations that would previously require much larger and heavier sets of equipment.

There will never be enough words to express how thankful we are of all the support we receive as we bring this story to life. This film is something that we cannot wait to share with the public. Something as small as a share on your social media pages could mean all the difference to our team. We will be regularly updating the campaign so you can track our progress during the films production. Along with donation perks, we invite you to enjoy our updates and behind the scenes coverage.  Again, thank you for everything and we can't wait to share all of this with you!

Risks and challenges

Obviously large projects such as ours comes with challenges. Filming can be delayed by inclement weather and equipment malfunctions. For some of us, this is our first feature film, coming on the heels of numerous shorts completed.

There are some things that could go wrong that we can't possibly predict, but we are all prepared to deal with any hiccups that come our way in the most efficient and professional way possible.

Our ultimate goal is to create a film that we are proud of, artistically and conceptually, and that we can share with the public. All of us here from the cast and crew thank YOU for supporting our art and enabling us to make this film.
