About

This "project" grew into something larger than I first imagined. It has turned out to be a challenge, not only because of the difficulty to make and use, but financially it has been hard. Currently the project is just an X-Y Table retrieved from the scrap pile; it had 2 servo motors on it and the encoders to match.
To complete this project it will need; 1) a motion control interface and a human interface; 2) the extruder to print; 3) sensors to tell where the table is; 4) the entire Z axis; 5) a means to make it accessible 6) a tool changer
1) For the interfaces, the plan is to use computers with a monitor and input to allow users to give files, see the status and to donate to the cause.
2) The extender is for sale from the RepRap project. Will be looking for more improved versions to replace them at a later time.
3) The sensors are going to be used to ensure quality of the part. included are encoders to tell where the table is and the extruder is, switches to tell when the table is "Home", a camera to show the status of the part (perhaps web accessibility)
4) for the Z axis it will be a vertical actuator, tool heads, feeder, materiel handler, and see other categorizes
5) such as a used trailer (already owned needs LOTS of work), shed, internet from basement, etc.
6) a way to change tool heads (future possibility) such as how a CNC milling machine works.
