Each Blink has a label on the bottom that tells you which game is programmed onto that Blink. The same technology that allows Blinks to be "social" during gameplay also allows them to tell each other that a new type of game is beginning and then share the rules of that game.
There is no direct relationship between the number of Blinks and the number of game players. A single Blink is capable of many types of interaction and each game designed for the system will use Blinks in different ways. For example, one game may allow all players to manipulate the entire board while another will require the total number of Blinks available be divided among all the people playing.
The Dev-Kit will be an early release version of Blinks. We currently develop on ones made with 3D-printed parts which don't have the kind of polish that the commercial product will have. They are more expensive to produce as they are created with short-run processes (i.e. injection molding doesn't make sense here) and we will most likely be assembling them in-house to get you up and running with Blinks and creating your own games. The Dev-Kit will also include a custom Jig for programming Blinks using a standard laptop/desktop computer. The programmer requires a standard USB-A port.
CR2032 is the answer here and we are doing all sorts of magic to make them last incredibly long. The target is 6 months of average gameplay without needing to replace them. A tall order, but we are already seeing wonderful power management, so much time has been spent figuring this out. Batteries are and will be user replaceable.
