Thanks to you Rising Sun has now been fully funded! Our first stretch goal is to bring on Joe Kieselbach as a collaborator on the project. The new goal of $250 will cover getting him a license for the software and paying him just a fraction of the value he will bring to this project.
I was interviewed by the folks over at Banhammer Podcast!
Rising Sun is a story about love and identity set in a fantasy world. It is a short story, about an hour to play through, that sets up more stories to come. Are you always who you once were? What does love mean when the one you love changes? This is a personal story that fits the medium. The funds raised here will allow me to purchase the license for the software that I am using to create this story. Any extra funds raised will go towards creating unique assets for the game to make the experience that much better. This is a new method of story telling for me and I hope that the taste I gave you in the video has left you wanting more.

Risks and challenges
This project is about telling a compelling story. I've been telling stories in one medium or another for twenty years. This is a brand new medium for me to weave a tale with but it is a medium I love. The tool I am using, RPGMaker VX Ace is powerful and allows me to focus on creating an honest, human story. Within a week of using the program I had the cutscene that I shared written and tweaked to my satisfaction. At this point I have the game half way to where I want it to be.
The biggest challenge to this project's completion is time. I am a father to a one, almost two year old and have a full time job. I have made the time to craft this game to this point out of love and out of a desire to stretch my skills. I built into this project more time than I feel I need to get it to completion but I am only one man working in a new medium. I will not give up on this project but my family comes first so there is a risk of delay.
There is also the risk that you will get the game and hate it, hate what I have to say and how I say it. I hope not! I hope that if you back this project it is because you have at least watched the scene above and found it intriguing enough to read below but it is a possibility. I don't know how to make that risk any easier to deal with other than to do my best to entertain and pull on your heart strings.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
