Help guide Kunoi through this fast-paced, brutally hard, love letter to retro platforming where every millisecond counts. DEMO INSIDE
About this project

- PC ONLY! Sorry Mac peeps. Part of this funding will go to getting new hardware to make a mac port. I just don't want to promise something I can't offer at this very moment.
Master Yuka has been kidnapped and it is up to his grand daughter and greatest student, Kunoi, to find him. She will dodge, slash, and throw stars through over 20 levels of painstaking platforming.
Here's a play through of the first level "Homeland" world 1:
Kunoi is a runner, but not an endless runner. It takes game play mechanics from endless runners and combines them with elements from retro games The gameplay will feel familiar yet distinct with its difficulty and aesthetics.
- Challenging game play at its best. Brutal concoctions of environmental hazards, platforming, and lethal enemies force the player to stay attentive, quick, and adapt.
- Carefully thought out level design. The player's experience is crafted by strategically placed dangers, risks, and rewards.
- Beautiful retro pixel art paying homage to the early 90's such as Sonic, Mario, and Kirby.
- A very expressive soundtrack which also pays tribute to the early 90's. Infectious melodic hooks and driving beats wrapped up in a 16-bit package.
- 20+ levels to blaze through. Seasoned players who are skilled can speed through levels at record time.
- Quick sessions and instantaneous respawn leaves no time for the player's skill to depreciate. There is enough punishment for the player to endure, why sit through a drawn out dying sequence?

Don't let the cloudy hill tops of Kunoi's homeland deceive you; traps and enemies are around every corner. Higher grounds provide more rewards, but prove to be more difficult.
Risks and challenges
TIME - The main risk is this is a one man project. From the graphics, programming, music, design, art, down to this Kickstarter, it is me. That said, I work a full time job and I'm in a full time band, so time is stretched. BUT, I work on this everyday, and put everything I got into it, and will continue to do so.
LOW PLEDGES - I want everyone to be able to play Kunoi, and have what I am offering. So I set the pledges down to the minimum. I'm not here to make money, I'm here to make games and share them with little to no backlash. Unfortunately with low pledge sets, means I need a lot of pledges! So I'm going to need your help in spreading the word and letting people know about us! Once you pledge, Kunoi is your game as well!
Finally the main challenge is showing how much I appreciate you even stopping by to see and read about my project. I wish I could personalize and greet everyone who visits here, and will try to do my best to reach out to everyone I can.
