August 13th and 14th of 2016
Well here we are again, and I am pleasantly surprised at how the first three MaricopaCon kickstarters have funded. We have to started to lose the underground vibe I like, but I will continue to provide that small convention feel. I am honored to have seen this grow from a gathering of eight people in my old house to 275+ people the last two years.
I have simplified the support levels this year. Every attendee supporter will get the same cool swag. This will speed up the check-in process. The dealer spots remain limited to ten again. This is good for the dealers attending and the attendees. If the project goes crazy wild I might open up a few more dealer spots. I have partnered with Chessex again for the custom dice.
Other board/card demo groups will be aggressively sought this year as well. More games and more variety is the goal. Product depth and breadth.
Cosplay will remain a part of the convention. Card games, board games, RPGs, and tabletop war games still remain our core. We will have a media and writer guest like last year. Our Mission Statement of Quality over Quantity hasn't changed. Our Sustainability Policy has allowed the convention to never run over budget. This convention is nothing without the Kickstarter backers and I will never forget that.
With your help the tradition of Phoenix Game Conventions will continue. We at MaricopaCon are honored to carry that torch with you. I want this convention to outlive me, so gamers can come roll dice together over a weekend every August (and leave having new friends).

Risks and challenges
As with every year, securing a venue that can house 250-275 awesome gamers for the weekend. We are looking at east and west valley locations. We can always go back to the Mesa Convention Center, but we want to make sure and get the most bang for your buck.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
