STRETCH GOALS UNLOCKED!!!
Great news!!!! We've hit our initial campaign goal, so Season 1 is happening!!! The support has been overwhelming! When we first met with our line producer in April our original budget was $20k, which felt a bit out of reach at the time. So we started cutting crew, pay, locations to try to make this season shootable! 11k was the barebones we were going to be able to pull this shoot off for, and with the amount of support coming in we're announcing two additional funding "stretch" goals!
Our final stretch goal of $20,000 will allow us to shoot with all the crew and gear we originally planned for!
Stuck in Development is a comedy web series starring Michael Khachanov as JARED, an aspiring writer/director/actor that moved to Los Angeles to become a filmmaker nearly 10 years ago, but instead spends all of his time lost in the world of personal growth and development.
We're raising funds to shoot the first 8 episode season this fall! Each episode runs about 5-10 minutes and covers Jared's different trials and tribulations on the ever winding road he takes while pursuing his dreams. The series covers the different absurdities artists, entrepreneurs, and spiritual seekers face in the modern day - culled from the real lives of the cast and crew.
Jason created the characters and stories of Stuck in Development and wrote seven out of the first eight episodes, with Tim Chapin writing episode four. Jason and Tim will each be directing four episode in the season.
We've got 4 days picked out to film this September to shoot the entire season in one go with your funding and support.
We're committed to paying all of our cast and crew which adds up over the four days and that's where we're asking for YOUR help!
Once completed, we'll debut the series online with the intention of getting it picked up by or sponsored by a major platform for future seasons. Your funds will be going directly to helping us secure the cast, crew, equipment, and locations to film all of Season 1 this fall.

A Depth & Light Production
Stuck in Development is the first new project by Depth & Light Productions, a film company founded in late 2018 by Jason Lange, Tim Chapin, Michael Khachanov, and Ahmad Dugas. Dedicated to telling stories about being human, our vision is for Depth & Light to be the vehicle for the amazing stories and ideas the four of us have stumbled upon over the years.
All four founding members met each other not through the film industry, but through doing our own deep growth and development. We think Stuck in Development will put us on the map for creating quality entertainment that also has heart and realness alive in every frame. We have a bunch of other shorts and feature ideas under development, as well as outlines for another 2 seasons of Stuck in Development in the pipeline. Beyond telling good stories, Depth & Light is also dedicated to bringing more ease and consciousness to the production process with good food, communication, and working conditions on set.

It has truly been an adventure since.

Feeling there was something calling him beyond his academic studies he made an unpopular decision and dropped out of school to pursue his creative desires. Acting on his intuition, he attended an adult acting class where he was given an outlet paving the way for the tall, unique and commanding presence that he is today.
Ahmad cut his teeth in the craft performing in low to no budget independent projects in Oklahoma. He was willing to start from the bottom to learn and earn his way to the top. Though growing in obscurity, he never lost sight of his goal of moving to Los Angeles and taking his acting goals to another level.
The time finally came and with $3000, no job or sure place to stay, Ahmad moved west in 2013 and has steadily made progress upwards with no plan b.

Risks and challenges
No production unfolds EXACTLY how it intended, and Stuck in Devleopment is no different! We wrote the series to be practical and realistic to film. Our team has an INSANE amount of experience behind it, and we're confident we'll be able to handle any curve balls thrown our way. Jason's last crowdfunded film was a smashing success, and stands as proof of concept of the high production quality we'll be aiming for.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
