New Pledge Level "Don't Be Blue, There's a Frog For You" now includes a Canadian shipping option!
Also, add-on an additional copy to an existing pledge for the 4 player variant for $7!
A few years ago when my oldest daughter was 4, we went out on a daddy/daughter date. At dinner I made her an origami frog and she quickly began making up a game with it. Having dabbled a bit in game design myself, we worked together to take her idea and make it into a real game!
Later that year, Sprocket Games (a company based in the U.K.) took the game to Kickstarter and made a short run of the game. Shipping was expensive for U.S. backers so not many copies made it across the pond.
We thought this great little game deserved another chance. We were inspired by Kickstarter's Make 100 challenge to kick off the year by bringing something new to life. We were also inspired by hearing stories about the Tokyo Game Market where game designers meet up in a school cafeteria a couple times a year with limited numbers of hand-assembled games just because they wanted to bring their creative endeavors to life. So here we are, bringing something we love to life. We hope you can help!
Here's how the game works:
It's simple to learn but hard to master! Read the full rules here.
Or watch this how-to-play video:
First, this is important: THERE IS NO BOX!
The game will be hand-assembled and come in a handy, travel-sized resealable plastic bag.
14 cards (4 Lily Pad Cards, 8 Bug Score Cards, 1 Rules Card, 1 Credits Card)
1 Stickered Frog Disc
For our Make 100 Backers (Get a Flippin' Game Pledge Level), the game will include a GREEN Frog Disc and a 1 inch FrogFlip bin/button/badge!
For the "Don't Be Blue, There's a Frog For You" Pledge Level includes a BLUE Frog Disc.
If you'd like to add on a second copy for the 4 Player Variant (see the rules linked above) you can do so for $7 just adjust your pledge level accordingly.
We've gotten lots of love for the previous version of FrogFlip!
"Every game, be it with adults, kids, or both, was filled with high levels of frustration and exuberance after every flip. Good times, good times. Which, when you stop and think about it, is exactly what a game is supposed to provide. So, you know, score one for the frog and the game designers." -Cyrus Kirby, FatherGeek
"This is a fun little game, and it did give me the opportunity to teach my boys how to properly flip a coin. (I guess that's a skill I've neglected to teach them in my parenting.) The boys had fun with it, and like I said, it's a great length for the times we don't have time to play a lengthy game before bedtime." -Jeremiah Isley, Theology of Games
"FrogFlip is genius in it's simplicity...This is a take anywhere and everywhere game...Frogflip is wickedly addictive!" -Socially Inept Gamer
"Light, quick, and fun. This is the kind of quick dexterity game that I love. Faster and easier to score than FlowerFall, this game really makes it work wonderfully." - Jeremiah Lee

While, this presentation is a little different for us we think it captures the spirit of what our company is all about; fast fun for everyone! Unlike our other games, there are no plans to bring FrogFlip to the retail market. This Kickstarter will get a little game we love into people hand's quickly (hopefully in a couple months) and maybe a few extra copies on hand to sell at conventions and special events. It's about creating to create. It's about a family doing something they love together and sharing it will people who connect with that story. We think it would be fun to bring neat little projects out from time to time. We're calling this line Green Couch Games Limited.
They won't be hand-numbered. They won't be printed in mass quantities. They may not have all the bells and whistles. They might feel a little impulsive. They won't be around long...unless we find out these little games are growing up and finding a life of their own once they are out in the wild.
Sounds like fun, right?
Speaking of fun, here's a fun little video we made 4 years ago for the Sprocket Games Kickstarter. Thanks to Michael and Steph Fox for seeing something special about this game back in 2013!
Risks and challenges
Making stuff is hard. But it's a lot of fun and we have a little bit of experience making stuff. We'll do our best to communicate with you all along the way but stuff can happen that's out of our control...shipping delays can be a bummer. Also, we're hand assembling these games so that will take some time but we've built some extra time into our expected delivery date for this reason.
Thanks so much for checking out our project and helping us make this great little game.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
