A competitive drinking game that puts you in the role of an adventurer trying to defeat monsters, gain treasures and ultimately win the game by being the first player to level up to 6. DrunkQuest is a competitive drinking game so while you try to remain as sober as possible during your quest, you're also trying to get your friends as drunk as possible!
On your turn, you'll draw a Monster to battle. Defeating a Monster requires you to drink them to death! Using the Monster above you can see the Hopsgoblin’s base Drink Value is 1 (Top Left). So a player would need to take 1 sip of their drink to defeat it. The Treasure Value (Bottom Right) is 7 so defeating the Hopsgoblin grants the player 7 Treasures. Each Monster in DrunkQuest also has a unique ability that effects how it's defeated. The Hopsgoblin lets the defeating player choose to forgo fighting it and just take a free level up. Choosing to defeat the Monster grants the 7 Treasures in addition but there's a catch!
All the other players at the table have a chance to affect your Monster. Raising its Drink Value, Lowering its Treasure Value, removing its level up and even stealing it so they can defeat it themselves!
Once everyone's had a chance to play a card on your Monster you total up the new Drink Value and chug your drink to defeat it! Below are two videos of a quick playthroughs if you're curious to see the game in action.
Now that you're familiar with the game lets talk about what Wastedlands has to offer a new adventurer...
Wastedlands is a Brand New Edition of DrunkQuest. It can be mixed into the original game for more variety or played completely on its own! Wastedlands adds 200 new cards with beautiful new art and mechanics including new features like Chasers which let you force friends into performing ridiculous tasks in order to defeat a Monster. Or our new Fux Monsters which take up space in players hands after being defeated.
And so much more! There's a ton of new stuff in Wastedlands for seasoned Questers and for new players it's our best version yet, with clearer rules, better design and more of everything that makes DrunkQuest great. Below you'll find our pledge levels as well as the Boozaar which lets you add extra items to your pledge.
The Boozaar is live! Each of the items below can be added à la carte. Just click the Manage Pledge button at the top of the site and adjust your pledge to include the total amount of items you want from the Boozaar. When the campaign ends you'll receive our backer survey that allows you to allocate those funds to the items you want! In addition, if you're looking to play DrunkQuest over the holidays any copies of Black Label ordered through the Kickstarter will ship out soon after the campaign ends!
Below you'll find more info on each of our Stretch Goals. Each goal will be accompanied by an update that'll outline it fully.
I wanted to take a moment to talk about why this project is important and what it means to us.
When we started Loot Corps in 2012 it was because we’d already created DrunkQuest and needed a company to go with our game! During our time away from the game, we worked on a second game (finished, but we decided to right the DrunkQuest ship first!) and grew the idea of what we wanted out of Loot Corps as a company. The short of it is we have a very clear list of games we want to make and a timeline to create them!
We’re hoping this Wastedlands Kickstarter will help us get started on the journey to building Loot Corps into a company that continues to produce amazing games! So please back, share and follow us on your social media platform of choice. Thanks for taking the time to read through this!
