Action Dinosaur is an animated comedy that's also a love letter to the insanity that was 80s media. A mashup of the decade's colorful, zany cartoons and ridiculous over the top action movies, Action Dinosaur is a throwback to an era when a story didn't need to make a lot of sense in order to be fun.
Action Dinosaur stars Action Dinosaur, a time traveling, extreme skateboarding, electric guitar playing, totally rad T-Rex action hero from the prehistoric 80s. He is in possession of a time/space/dimensional vortex, which he uses extremely irresponsibly.
Amazingly, he is also in possession of a Twitter account, which he also uses extremely irresponsibly:
We're raising money to complete our first Action Dinosaur short - which is already written, recorded, and storyboarded. The short will be submitted to film festivals and eventually released online, with the hopes that we can build enough interest to launch an Action Dinosaur series.
Of course, if we raise enough money now we'll be able to keep making Action Dinosaur episodes for the internet! We have a bunch of episode concepts mapped out, and we'd love nothing more than to share them with you. We've come up with a bunch of stretch goals to help us get there, and we'll keep adding more as we go!

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
We're asking for $20,000 to help us finish Action Dinosaur. That might sound like a lot for a short film, but it's actually very low for what we're trying to achieve - professional, television quality hand drawn animation. Similar projects usually cost upwards of $100,000 to make, but we believe we can do it for a fraction of the cost thanks to our experiences and resources as independent film producers. Our team has made professional high-quality animated music videos for similar low budgets. The trick is putting in a lot of hard work ourselves, and keeping our teams as small and efficient as possible.
We also need funding to complete elements of the short that we've already started, including our beautifully painted backgrounds and totally radical film score. We also need a small amount for logistical incidentals, costs we incur in the process of getting the short made (travel, materials, etc). Finally, Kickstarter and the credit card companies keep about 9% of what we raise, and another 10% will go towards fulfilling our backer rewards. We've intentionally kept the number of physical rewards low so that more of your money goes towards making this short the best it can be. We're here to make cartoons, not t-shirts.*
*But we do have t-shirts.
