GOAL I hope you enjoyed catching a glimpse into my live show and new songs. I am planning a northern US and Europe tour right now in support of 'Teenage
Red', my forthcoming full length album. Touring is very expensive and
most times does not pay for itself, and that is why I am asking for your
help. A portion of your support will also go to essential promotion and
merch: CDs, advertising, T shirts, etc.
Two singles have been released in advance; ‘Particles’, an industrial
shoegaze lament, and ‘Reticulata’, a drenching wall of sound that
features stellar San Francisco producer PC Muñoz
on electrobeats. The song was conceived when PC sent me a recorded
sound snippet as he‘s been known to do occasionally, roughly a year
ago. A multicolored, abstract, layered collage video for ‘Reticulata’
was presented in late April, 2012.
As an added bonus, former bandmate and avant cellist Zoë Keating
has joined me to release two of my favorite songs: 'Sister Europe' by
the Psychedelic Furs, and 'Tango' written by Zoë (with a little help
from me) on colored vinyl 7"!
BACKSTORY I've been a musician since I was about 5 years old, have been in a few successful bands, and on a major label, but a couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to become a full time DIY artist, so I set out to find and develop my vision for what I wanted that to be, which included learning animation and film. The depth of passion and creativity I discovered in myself was so strong, it took me a while to know what to do with it. Now that I've released 'Poéme Èlectronique', a 4 song EP and my first solo album, and have a few solo shows behind me, I believe I have reached that point, and I am extremely excited about this new album and tour.
I have a ton of things to share with everyone out there, so I'm hoping you can help make this happen. Music and art for most of us goes far beyond entertainment; it belongs to you, lives in your soul, changes how you see things, and, more often than not, gets you through some pretty strange times. It has done that for me, always, and I am extremely grateful for it.
Mind the swag that comes with various donations, and thank you for your support! All names of contributors will appear on the online album artwork!
I would like to take this opportunity to show my appreciation to the lovely people in my life that have helped me get this far:
Woodman family, Kat Zumbach, PC Muñoz, Zoë Keating, Bart Nagel, Cynthia Taylor, Mary Turner, Karen Uchiyama, Woodman Colón, NYCrz Kirsten Hammer, Heidi Vincent, Valeria Kovatcheva, & Karen Fleisch, Anna Bouchard/ Drowner, Paul Lopez and The Shoegaze Collective, Ambient Airwaves, Keller Medlin, Amy, Eve, & The San Francisco Electronic Music Meetup, and my growing number of fans - see you on the road!
