In 2013 I began therapy for an anxiety disorder called Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. One of my coping mechanisms was to come up with stories about confronting some of the things I was afraid of like corruption, inequality and the consequences of actions. After gaining confidence, making steps towards stability in my life, I began to want to develop what I had daydreamed about for so long. This is the result of my journey from struggling to leave my home, washing my hands up to 25 plus times a day, to attempting to live out a life long goal of creating stories.
What is Queen?
Queen is a political thriller starring Emily Green, the Deputy Prime Minister, in a United Kingdom set in an alternate universe. The mother of one is beginning to question the choices she has made in life, and her role in the Conservation party.
It's 2015 and Britain is nearing a general election, tempers are flaring and the country cannot shake off the feeling that Prime Minister Daniel Camden isn't the honest character he would have you believe. Continued rumors of corruption, plans to privatize the Nominated Health Service (NHS) and difficulties connecting with the people of his country are not helping his case for a second term in power. All of this eventually leads to a tragedy that will shape the country's political landscape for generations. The question everyone wants to know is 'who killed Camden?'
The Kickstarter is carefully planned for a first time creator, but as a result Queen Part One will be an extremely limited print.
Queen will be a 24-page comic (including the outer) if this Kickstarter is successful. Here is the cover design and six fully completed pages to preview:
Jamie Me is the creator, writer and letterist of Queen. In his spare time he enjoys reading comics, submission wrestling and is a huge fan of open world survival games.
Bernadinus "Bernard" Gita is the artist of Queen. He loves listening to any type of music except country, watching movies, reading comics, drawing, watching sports, playing video games and culinary.
If you want to see more art by Bernadinus you can take a look at his Deviant Art page.
Sean Callahan is the colorist of the group. He recently won 'Best Colorist' in a Reddit competition.. He has been coloring for a few years now and over the last couple months has been seriously pursuing it as a career. He has a great passion for comics, digital art, and story telling and has found coloring to be a natural fit.
To look at more work by Sean you can visit his website here: www.callahancolors.com
The trio when not producing comics often converse on Google Hangouts, and have found out some very interesting facts about each other. For example:
- Jamie and Bernadinus share a common interest in Mixed Martial Arts.
- Bernadinus was on his high schools basketball team, and he even broke his wrist during a game.
- Sean & Jamie competed on opposing teams against each other in a Reddit comic competition.
The Queen reward tiers are carefully designed to allow backers to easily understand what they will be getting.
The 'Red Line' Collectors Edition is an extremely limited Kickstarter exclusive, features no logos on the front, and is hand signed and numbered.

Risks and challenges
Here are some of the challenges the project may face:
- Delays in the production of artwork due to unforeseen circumstances. For example: sickness, injury and other acts out of reasonable control.
- The project is funded over the amount stated, and then I would have additional responsibilities to fulfill. This could lead to an extended production time depending on the amount raised.
- More than expected shipping responsibilities. Organizing a huge amount, if we exceed the initial goal, of deliveries could take longer than anticipated.
In any of the above circumstances I will keep in constant contact with backers, search for solutions quickly and be open about any problems faced. I have however taken extensive care in the planning of Queen, and I can promise you that every effort has and will be made to keep on schedule. You can view 6 pages already fully developed as an example of the teams work ethic.
I have also added an extra month on to our projected schedule so that the comic you get is of the quality you expect, and shipping can be organized to a higher standardLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
