@Phil, yeah, I also like the underground radio, but we went through 8 almost revamps of the expansion (all of the with the radio, though, IIRC) and probably 3-400 revisions total, without getting it to work as well as we wanted it to. So we decided that it was better to toss in the towel than publish something that wasn't up to our usual standard.
An open-world game with superheroes--I like that! Though that isn't my open-world game. :)
Tis a shame it didn’t work out (I know I was hard on it in its early form) but thematically it was on point. The modular board for Scythe will be an instant purchase and I continue to hope that “Cape” is the open world game and has superheroes. Keep up the great work and quality games.
That's true, we worked on that version for a long time, but it just wasn't getting the results we wanted.
From that description it sounds like the prototype expansion with the broadcast component didn’t make the cut. I liked that concept. I will have to think on if I want to get more buildings and Workers. I still have not gotten the newest Scythe cards and I play that far more than Euphoria even though i still enjoy both games.
OK I figured that would be the case but wanted to be sure. Thanks for the quick reply. Looking forward to tackling the dystopia again and I will finally be able to put those Tuscany/Euphoria cross-over components to use!
Michael: We permanently fixed those recruits a long time ago, so the correct versions appear in all reprints.
Wow! Looks like a great expansion. The automa aspect appears to fix the reason I ended up getting rid of Euphoria (I preferred playing with 3-4 players but usually ended up with only 2). If I pick up a new copy of Euphoria, do I need to seek out replacement cards as well or have they been fixed in more recent printings?
I kept thinking I'd pick them up at GenCon someday (keep missing getting a downtown room), so thanks for the reminder of them being on the website.
Well, good news: They're easily available on the Geek Store (they have been for several years now): https://boardgamegeekstore.com/products/euphoria-updated-recruit-cards
Also, when you play with the expansion, you can play with either the new recruits and new market tiles OR the original recruits and original market tiles, so the replacement cards aren't needed when you play with the expansion's new components.
This makes me sad I was never able to pick up the replacement cards for the KS copy I got. The game has sat on the shelf unplayed waiting for me to get them. LOL! Someday. Someday.
Thanks Aaron. :)
Woooohooo awesome!!!!! -rabid euphoria fan
Great question! Yes, there's plenty of room for them to fit in the box, including if you bought the Game Trayz custom insert at some point.
Here's a quick question that I bet a lot of people will ask. Will the expansion pieces fit into my KS Euphoria box (sleeved version) or will it best be kept in it's own box?
