The Arcminute Automatic™ from RAPHAEL
Unrivalled Quality and Design - Automatic Movement, Power Reserve, 24 Hour Subdial, Sapphire Crystal, Made To Measure Leather Band.
THE ARCMINUTE CONCEPT
Noun. A unit of measure equal to one-sixtieth of a degree.
The beauty of a mechanical timepiece rests in its precise and incremental movements that all accumulate to create time. These movements are often unobserevd and can only be measured in fractions of degrees known as arcminutes.
Similarly, design is a discipline that is built on precise details and decisions, ones that are often unobserved yet also accumulate to create a beautiful result.
The Arcminute Automatic is a Watch that celebrates this connection between Time and Design and focuses on the significance of details that are often unobserved.
AN INTRODUCTION TO AUTOMATIC WATCHES
An Automatic Watch is what many enthusiasts consider to be the most desirable of timepieces. An Automatic Watch is fully mechanical and operates without batteries or any electronic components. Long before the advent of battery operated 'Quartz' and plastic components, all Timepieces were Mechanically powered, the most typical movements being 'Hand Wound', where the crown is used to wind the Mainspring, which releases the energy to run the Watch. The innovation of an Oscillating Rotor would change the course of Watchmaking History, as a person's motion while wearing the Watch allowed watches to become 'Self-Winding'.

POWER RESERVE ARC
The Arcminute Automatic features a subtle Power Reserve Arc that indicates how much power is stored within the Movement at any time, When not being worn, the hand pivots from the right + to the left - over a 40 hour period. This feature has been designed to offer clean-lined dimension to the domed dial layout, yet remain informative. The benefits of this feature are remarkable and when not wearing the Watch, make use of the additional Hand Winding feature to add almost two full days of power reserve.
24 HOUR AM/PM SUBDIAL
If you have ever owned any Analog Watch, at some point you most likely will have mis-set your watch to be out of sync with AM/PM by 12 hours. For example; the date will change incorrectly at midday not midnight. The 24 Hour Subdial of the Arcminute Automatic will help you avoid this through the Military Time representation displayed on a truly breathtaking Guilloché backdrop that adds texture and elegance to the aesthetic of the Watch.
The Arcminute Automatic is powered by a Caliber 9132 high-beat movement that beats at 28,800 beats per hour, or 8 beats per second. Every beat of the movement perpetually moves the second hand forward 45 Arcminutes to create the captivating sweep of the second hand. This watch would not be possible without this beating heart that is manufactured in Japan by Miyota Co. and is displayed through the second Sapphire Crystal of the Arcminute Automatic's Exhibition Caseback.
FULL GRAIN LEATHER BAND
Raphael Quality Goods Co. is built on a foundation of fine Leatherwork. Our Leather Goods have become the beloved everyday pieces of thousands across the globe. The full grain, vegetable tanned leather Band of the Arcminute Automatic represents the highest degree of Leatherwork achievable, with it's tapered lines, groove-set saddle stitched seams, meticulous finishing and made to measure sizing.
The Arcminute Automatic is secured on the wrist by a Stainless Steel Deployment Buckle closure. This butterfly system is size adjustable and will preserve the leather band for years to come as the strap does not have to be repeatedly folded back on itself as required with a standard Tang Buckle, allowing your watch band to age beautifully and develop warmth and patina with time.
The material that protects the Dial of a watch is known as the Crystal. Sapphire is a synthetic material made through crystallising Aluminium Oxide with heat. In watchmaking, it represents the standard for a quality timepiece as it is by far the most scratch resistant of available options. The Arcminute Automatic features both Front and Back Solid Sapphire Crystals to further protect the beauty of your watch for years to come.
Detail is at the heart of the Arcminute Concept and this is emphasised by the subtle beauty of the Metallic Domed Dial. The finish absorbs light and creates dimension through it's timeless domed edges, layered Subdial and engraved Power Reserve Arc. The Polished applied Markers and diamond cut Hands contrast the finish to create the balanced and beautiful face of the Arcminute Automatic.

Kickstarter is a platform that allows us to create products that truly connect with those who share our values, tastes and sensibilities. Raphael Quality Goods Co. simply would not exist without the initial support of our Kickstarter Backers.
One of the many benefits of the process is learning about the finer details of your tastes and preferences through the surveys and ultimate selections made at the close of the project.
This allows for leaner and more intelligent manufacturing as your support helps with the final stage of bringing our Production Ready Products to market through fulfilling all minimum order requirements from component and material suppliers.
As a reward for your early support of our products and designs, you have the benefit of not only being an Original Owner but you are receiving a significant saving on the Post-Project Value.

Risks and challenges
Every project presents both new opportunities and new obstacles. Having created and successfully fulfilled several previous Kickstarter projects, I know first hand that at some point, solutions will be needed and obstacles will need to be overcome. The best way to do this is through clear communication in every direction. All of my learning up until this point has been and will continue be of great service to all of us in creating the Arcminute Automatic.
The timeline for the project has been coordinated with a contingency window in mind, should anything unforeseen arise. It is my hope that this will provide the opportunity to not only manage your expectations, but exceed them.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
