Go from optical to sunglasses in the blink of an eye. Our magnetic glasses were born as an elegant solution to the problem of easily switching between optical and sunglasses.
Goodordering have been making multi-functional cycling bags and celebrating urban cycling lifestyles for the past five years, and as part of that journey, we're now embracing another important and functional accessory used by cyclists and non-cyclists alike - eyewear.
The unique 3 in 1 functionality means that you can have your optical prescription in the base frame layer and then build up from there. Tinted lenses attach via tiny magnets with a satisfying click, turning your opticals into sunglasses without the need for clip-ons or multiple pairs.
As it gets a little darker catch those last afternoon rays by clipping on the yellow lenses to bring a new burst of optimism into your life, or take the edge off the glare from screens and devices.
The frames are made from Ultem - a highly flexible and robust material used in aerospace engineering. The lenses are polarised so they cut out the harmful UVA and UVB light.
We need your support to launch these glasses into the market and to spread the word.
With the money we make from this campaign, we'll be able to put the magnetic glasses into full production, after having trialled them with a smaller batch once the design was perfected. We've also introduced a new style into the range as part of this launch.
Below are some of the publications we have been featured in.

Technical specs of the glasses
Our glasses are made from ULTEM® an amorphous thermoplastic polyetherimide (PEI) material which combines exceptional mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. Both the smoke grey and yellow lenses provide UVA and UVB protection. They are also polarised which means that the lenses eliminate glare. We have all the paperwork and test results from our factory if anyone requires these, just get in touch. The glasses are made in China in a state of the art factory.
The glasses are prescription ready, meaning that you are able to put your own prescription in them by taking them to any optician or online glazing company. The frames can suit a wide range of prescriptions including "very thick, "coke bottle" ones so feel confident that they will fit your requirements technically. If they don't you can always change or refund them later with us.

Risks and challenges
The risks are minimal as we have already a small production run of glasses that we are offering up as rewards for pledging.
The manufacturer is reputable and has international customers such as German brand Einar Group, and has shown at the leading global trade fairs.
There may be a bit of delay with the production of some of the rewards for example the pantone matched pledge but i'm confident that the factory will be able to produce a great product.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
