UPDATE - The Internet Of Things
The internet of things is a big topic at the moment and is about to get a whole lot bigger. There will be a day where everything on the planet will be tagged and monitored for supposedly the common good. However as technology advances and there becomes an increasing amount of data available there is more opportunity to use this to influence and change your life. We are already using all this data to communicate with social networking and use it to make our life's easier and more efficient with home automation. Noteu is a project that's starting with utilizing back end services such as social networking and pulling data from the web and displaying it to you because you want it at a glance. However the sky truly is the limit when it comes to innovation of what you can do. Imagine monitoring your house such as your lights, heating, garage door and locks from half way around the world. These are real and up coming things and with support from you we can start to see how far we can go.
£2,000 - IFTTT Integration allowing to link Noteu with the rest of your digital world to display almost anything you want.
£3,500 - Graphical LCD's for all Noteu's which means a huge amount more functionality spanning into displaying graphics as opposed to text.
£5,000 - Android and iOS Apps to connect Noteu to your phone via Bluetooth eliminating the need for a computer making it truly portable.
Noteu is one of the first customizable real-time displays that keeps you updated in life, social media and business. Instead of needing to check multiple websites, apps or open any windows Noteu tells you what you need to know at a glance all in one place. With its easy to use app compatible on Windows, Mac and Linux you can choose amongst a wide range of updates and alerts with huge customization. Noteu is also open to developers and programmers to display whatever you want with Java API's and a serial protocol.
How it works
Noteu packs two pieces of hardware an LCD display and a beeper which are used to inform you of updates and alerts. Noteu connects to your computer via Bluetooth and can be used from around 5 metres away. Noteu also packs a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery which can power the device up to a day without charge. You can set up Noteu with the internet and your social media accounts easily and securely in no time with Noteu's easy to use app. Noteu is also open to programmers and developers with Java API's and a serial protocol you can use in almost any language to connect and interface with Noteu's LCD and beeper.
Since we first started development of Noteu in May and over two unsuccessful Kickstater launches we have learnt a great deal about how to make it better and give you what you want. Noteu originally used a 32 character LCD display and used a USB connection to connect it to your computer. It wasn't portable with needing constant power as well as no fully 3D functional prototype. We have incorporated Bluetooth, an 80 character LCD display as well as portability with a Lithium Ion battery.
With a pledge of £45 you will get one fully working Noteu with a USB Bluetooth dongle and a USB power cable. This does not come with a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery.
With a pledge of £55 you will get all of the above with the rechargeable lithium ion battery inside.
Noteu will have its own website where Noteu's app can be downloaded as well as future updates. The website will also have a forum where Noteu users including me can share ideas and problems they may be having.
To manufacture Noteu we are setting up an assembly station here in England 3D printing our cases and out sourcing our PCB's and components. In order to manufacture Noteu at a consumer price high initial costs must be met which is why we've came to Kickstarter as well as to get support for Noteu. If you back our project here's a timeline of what to expect.

Risks and challenges
I've worked with a lot of electronic projects for years and know very well how tough it can be. I've started three Kickstarter projects before this one and understand the commitment that is needed to see it through.
I have huge experience within this type of technology and programming which puts me in a place where most obstacle have already been tackled. Only possible problems would be with suppliers however they should never be severe and you will always be constantly updated.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
