The next thing.

A quick update on 4 of a Kind (now known as Dead Peasants).

I’m still working on drafts of the script from great notes given to me not only by Chris Ashworth but Jim Klock who was set to produce and possibly direct. We’ve had a few setbacks, but we’re all still moving forward with it.

What I want to announce is the next project:

It’s a project I’ve been thinking about for close to a year now. It’s based upon this blog post I wrote in 2010. It tells the story of one man’s travels from the 90s til now with milestones in his life tied to way he’s able to consume music.

It’s a short film I hope to crowd fund. I’ll be launching that Kickstarter campaign in the next month or so. Right now I’m still figuring out how much we need to raise.

While we didn’t make it last time, I’m confident we’ll have something to show at the end of this run.

Big news on the "4 of a Kind" screenplay.

I wanted to give you guys an update on 4 of a Kind. On a minor note, I've changed the name of the screenplay to "Dead Peasants". I always kinda hated the "pun" of "4 of a Kind" and I think "Dead Peasants" just sounds cooler.

The big news is that the screenplay was just optioned and all signs are pointing to this movie getting made. I however, won't be directing it. The script will be in much more experienced hands which will ultimately lead to the best film possible. And in the end that's all that truly matters.

As for me, I just had cataract surgery and am recovering nicely from that. I'm also kicking around the idea of shooting a short. I'm putting together a budget and reaching out to potential crew. I'll keep you posted as this starts to take shape.

I hope you all have been well.

Are you guys ready to rally, again?

Hey guys!

It's been a bit. About 106 days since we came up just short of reaching our funding goal. I haven't given up and things are progressing. The script found a new producer as well as a new name and I'm working on re-writes. I'm sure I'll be back sometime in 2013 to ask for your help again, but tonight, I'm asking you to help another filmmaker who supported 4 of a Kind.

Jonathan Schiefer has about three hours left in his Kickstarter. He needs a rally like the one we put on that awesome Friday night in August.

He has an amazing script called "The Root Kit" which is an accurate,non-Hollywood, take on real hacking. I read the first seven pages of the script and I've backed it. I hope you guys can pitch in during these final hours.

I hope you've all been well and look forward to re-connecting with you guys again soon!

Whoa.

I feel like Keanu Reeves right now. Just whoa.

I have no idea what I'm doing next. Many of you have suggested relaunching quickly on IndieGoGo. Or just redoing the Kickstarter with a lower amount in a short time frame.

I'll let you guys know when I know what the next plan of attack is.

Thank you so very much again. That late push was incredibly fun and thrilling to be a part of.
