Much of my work looks at the relationship between man and the landscape. My current project is looking at the world famous Blackpool Illuminations. The Illuminations are as a result of the Victorians experimenting with electricity for street lighting with Blackpool being the first place in the world to have electric street lighting. The light generated was know as "artificial sunshine". It is mans desire to control its environment, this is perfectly illustrated by Blackpool Illuminations illuminating the darkness of the night.
This photographic project will look at some of the Illumnations by taking them out of their usual context of just one of thousands lined up on a 6 mile stretch of Blackpool Promenade and placing them in various locations around the town.
The Money generated will be used to get the images professionally printed and mounted for exhibiting. All donations and help is gratefully received. If you want to be contacted about exhibitions then come and join us and keep up to date with my progress!
Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges I face are minimal, however the aim of the raised funds is to professionally exhibit the project. I have an exhibition space for the intial exhibition organised in Blackpool and I feel this will be a strong enough piece of work that it will be exhibited in several different locations nation wide.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
