The Reclamation of Timothy Cratchit is a 32 page long short story comic which uses some elements Dicken's lesser known Christmas story The Haunted Man and the Ghost's Bargain while revisiting the lives of some of the beloved characters from A Christmas Carol. The comic is being released to read online for free throughout December 2018 here, or for mobile here.
This project is to produce a high quality printed version to adorn your bookshelf (or wherever you keep your comics!)
I'm Helen Greetham, creator of the webcomics set throughout time and space such as The Art of Monsters, Breaking the Lore and Earth in a Pocket.
You can find out more about me on my website!
The aim is that digital rewards will be sent out by the end of January, while physical rewards will be shipped in February/March.
As Scrooge says in a Christmas Carol - "I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year!" Perhaps getting a little taste of Christmas in the New Year will help you do the same!
Your name in the thank-you page! The comic will have a page with a list of credits for kickstarter backers. Back the comic at any level, and the name of your choice will be there!
The Reclamation of Timothy Cratchit: The PDF - If you like to read your comics digitally and would prefer an offline offering, this PDF will have all the same content as the printed comic in a handy laptop/tablet/kindle-friendly format.
The Reclamation of Timothy Cratchit: The Printed Comic - An A5, sepia tone/full colour, 32 page comic with a full colour cover and endpapers. All comics will be signed.
The Reclamation of Timothy Cratchit: Bookplate Edition - The comic, but with the addition of an exclusive signed bookplate with a one of a kind quick doodle, as per your request! *
*Within reason - please keep it appropriate, or I'll ask for another suggestion ^_^
Christmas Card/Diorama Open up the Cratchit's house, and they're all inside about to enjoy their pudding! You can either send this unusual Christmas card to a friend next year, or keep it as a decoration.
The Trapper Lad -
A mining community in the mid-19th century: dark, dangerous and dirty. On his first day working underground, a young boy is faced with demons in the dark and the possibility that his father might not love him anymore.
If you enjoy heartwarming but spooky tales featuring adorable Victorians, then why not take the opportunity to grab a copy of my previous comic The Trapper Lad? It's A5, 24 pages long and full colour.
COMPLETED! All backers with reward tiers will receive a longer version of the comic, totaling 32 pages!
COMPLETED! Rather than being in black and white, the comic will be printed in sepia tones, with four full colour pages.
An additional bookmark as a thank-you for all physical reward tiers.
(I'll also send along a digital file for digital tier backers to print!)
Risks and challenges
This is my first Kickstarter, so I've concentrated on keeping things simple and ensuring that there are no big surprises in the event of successful funding. The comic is completed, so the content is ready to go!
That being said, there is always room for delays with printing and shipping. In particular I'm going to be doing all the packing and posting myself, so there's the possibility of me falling behind. I'll keep in touch with backers if any problems arise.
There's also the possibility that the design of the printed comic and the rewards might change when I know how much money is available. I'm committed to making the highest quality product, and I'll make sure not to make any big unexpected changes!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
