About this project
When you saw our headline and felt yourself drawn to our page, what did you have in mind? Chances are you were thinking about that 6'2" 220lb ripped glistening firefighter. Well, most of us aren't that, however, rest assured that you will not be disappointed.
While we have the utmost respect for the standard firefighter calendars and the money they raise for charity, this project will pioneer a new kind of firefighter calendar. A calendar of average men and women who dedicate their time away from their full time jobs and families to be part time/volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians.
This calendar will offer something for everyone. It will feature both men and women with a variety of body types and sizes in the same sexy style of the standard firefighter calendar.
While we may not be models or body builders, that doesn't mean that you won't still get hot under the collar when you see our calendar. This job is still physically demanding and requires a very unique person to be able to do what we do. We are fit, we are strong but we are average. It is not that we aren't sexy firefighters, it is that we are average sexy firefighters.
What your money funds:
The funding from Kickstarter will enable us to hire an extremely talented local photographer who specializes in a wide variety of photography including boudoir, family and event photography. Her talent will allow each and every one of us to show how fantastically sexy we are and create a calendar that everyone will want to see.
Funds raised will also support the initial production of 1000 12" by 12" high quality 12 month saddle-stitched calendars. The calendar will be high enough quality that, at the end of the year, you will have the option of cutting it apart and framing your favorite months. This might be a good reason to buy two, one to hang and one to frame (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
Why did a bunch of firefighters decide to take their shirts off?
Last year, three of our team walked in the Seattle Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure in full bunker gear. They did this because of their unwavering belief in saving lives and inspiring others. While walking through the streets of downtown Seattle, the three of us (who are average firefighters) realized that just because our six packs don't stand out doesn't mean that what we do and how we look isn't sexy.
Thank you for funding this project. Our hope is that this project becomes an annual event and you will look forward to seeing our calendar year after year.
Thanks again, we know you will love the calendar!
