Why Do You Need iTOMO-Cup?
Water is a necessity to live, however, it’s also something we forget about during the day. Do you ever find yourself asking, “Have I had any water today?” or “Did I drink enough water today?” Well, iTOMO-Cup was created to relieve you of having to ask yourself these very questions.
iTOMO-Cup reminds you to drink water every hour using an LED indicator and beeping noise. It also acts a thermometer by showing you your beverage’s temperature when it is over 40 degrees Celsius/ 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Lastly, it is stylish and fun with 5 colors of LED lights that light up when you touch it!
How Much Water Do You Need Everyday?
Here Are 6 Reasons To Make Sure You're Drinking Enough Water:
iTOMO-Cup is made of new bone china and has a unique double-wall structure that helps slow down the natural change of your beverage’s temperature. More so, it will never burn you, or leave those pesky condensation rings!
The cup is battery operated, and a red light will signal when it is time to change them approximately every 3 months. Because the cup is waterproof, the batteries will not be affected during wash or use, however iTOMO-Cup is not dishwasher or microwave safe.
The Challenges We’ve Overcome
We went through multiple design steps to create our first working prototype including drawings, structures, and several different molds. This was a very challenging time, and we were also extremely frustrated trying to find a qualified ceramic factory to create our product.
Most of the ceramic factories we went to refused our designs and told us it was impossible to make iTOMO-Cup and mass produce them. But, finally we found our match! Through all of our successes and failures, we found a method to our madness, and we are now ready to bring our vision of iTOMO-Cup to market with your help!
Risks and challenges
In the first stages of prototype I & II, we faced unexpected results and failed time after time. We analyzed every failure and implemented various measures to improve the molds and production process. We grew in learning from those failures and took them as a valuable lesson.
In our current stage of prototype III, we’ve created about 100 pieces as a sample test run and we are confident the results will be as expected. We will have more iTOMO-Cups for distribution toward the end of June 2015. Hopefully, our final challenge will be how fast we can fulfill backer orders per the projected reward timeline!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
