Thanks for extending the pledge backer deadline for benefit of those who hadn't seen your emails. Appreciate your candid explanation of why you came up with the donation idea - well done for revoking that once you realised you'd made a mistake.
I'm really looking forward to getting my copy. No problem from my perspective if you airfreight some games to sell at higher prices at UKGE before ocean-shipped games have arrived for the original backers - you were upfront about that being the intent originally. As far as I'm concerned, its just great news that we're likely to get our copies so far in advance of the scheduled November date (compared to some KS projects which don't manage to ship until well after their plans). I don't mind waiting a few weeks extra after UKGE and saving lots on shipping.
There are over 6600 backers for this project. No, "everyone" is not on here complaining about the 2-week thing. The ENTIRE point of the complaints is that the people who had to worry about it, were exactly the people who WEREN'T here right now to voice their concerns.
Look, the situation has been resolved, so it's all a moot point now, but holy crap I'm surprised at the degree to which some people refuse to imagine walking a mile in someone else's shoes.
How is it stealing money if you don't respond when they have given warning after warning and then if you don't answer they don't keep the money they give it to someplace....? Two weeks is fine everyone is on here commenting and interjecting every chance they get every other day but are complaining about two weeks! They are trying to streamline while making everyone happy let them finish.
I would like an additional veteran pledge.
But I cannot select it. How come??
@許雲藏 - It's coming up on our end at the regular price - if you're still having issues let us know on firstname.lastname@example.org
The 2 week deadline is perfect ? Other than the fact nobody knew about it and you were then going to steal the money.
WHY TAIWAN SHIPPING STILL COSTS £10.00?
Freight & Shipping section says:
"We're aiming to get a chunk of games once manufactured to the UK Games Expo in June, so we're aiming to get shipping on the go before then. November is our worst case scenario. We may obviously sell copies of the game at the UKGE before some backers get their copy elsewhere in the world."
The bit of this - "before some backers get their copy elsewhere in the world" - implies that UK backers can pick up at the Expo (otherwise why even mention the elsewhere in the world bit, just stress it's all backers regardless of location).
The obvious question is - how much will it be priced at the show? My backing of the base level plus shipping was 27 quid - if the price at the show is 30 note or less, then I'm not exactly chuffed at supporting the game and being shafted like that. So yeah, I would quite like to know the intended show price-point.
Nice update, thanks for addressing our concerns.
I was totally on board with the previous deadline, although I can see that some people might be offended. It was written a little sharply :P. I'm completely behind any decisions you guys make - you've been transparent with us throughout the campaign and afterwards, and I'll definitely be following any of your future projects as well.
Not a problem, keep up the good work :)
I didn't see the old policy was a problem, but I think this should address the concerns. Nicely done.
@Amy Bruhl, @Sean Patterson: A two-week deadline does not reflect reality -- vacation, bereavement, computer woes -- all can result in missing a two-week window; further, once a campaign funds the creator has a legal obligation to deliver rewards to its backers -- declaring a forfeit 30 weeks before their published fulfillment date is not an option.
+1 Amy - I second your comment. I think itb was just as excited as we were to get this game into production
As someone who's growing tired of Kickstarter campaigns delayed by people just not filling out surveys, I loved the two week deadline & donation policy. I thought they were a great idea. Sad to see them go, but I understand that some people were upset. I just hope those people will fill out their surveys quickly so we ALL can get our stuff.
Congrats on successful campaign.. Making mistakes is a great learning experience for you and for any future Kickstarters. Completed the pledge and Couldn't help myself and add all the minutures... Now the wait begins...
Kudos on the clarification update. I think this will go a long way toward smoothing everything out.
All makes perfect sense and even more so that you'd want and need to have physical copies at such an important and major games show.
That anyone can't see this is beyond me.
Keep up the great work.
Good clarification on incomplete surveys.
And I hope you do have core copies to sell at the con, regardless if KS gets them shipped earlier. It's good for everyone regardless if some think it's cheating, hah.
