You know who did answer me... Indiegogo. When I advised them of our situation and that they'll be the next to hear the thunderous silence after they pay.
Hopefully that will put a little pressure to respond to your present backers.

So May as promised delivery month is almost gone.
No survey, no reason for delay - only stupid pictures from an iphone ...
@creator: Where are the problems with this simple product? When will you ship the products or at least post the survey?
Or are you chilling in the pool with lots of cocktails paid with our pledge ?
Piyush vor 1 Tag
@ creator : Dude this is obvious that people will point fingers if you won't reply after taking their hard earned money. I just know that yes kickstarter projects gets delayed due to a lot of reasons but people still understand just because the creators remains in touch.
So, if you are actually real just reply to the people, give a proper update else people will start pulling authorities in and don't expect otherwise.

Just dropped off a detailed summary of our situation to Indiegogo. Letting them know about our situation so they can avoid the same fate.
I advise everyone to share this mess with Indiegogo but also social media and blogs that endorced this product.

Would it be easier if we just wrote to you on instagram since you're so active there? How about indiegogo? This is ridiculous that your backers are having to go to your social media outlets to get updates. Come on, man!
Nick Cornaglia vor 4 Tagen
I wasnt aware there was an indiegogo campaign as well.

Dear Sirs,
I was due to receive delivery of this product in May. It is almost the end of May and I confirm I have not received my product. Can you please confirm if there will be a delay in delivery? and confirm exactly when I am due to receive of my product?
Jacob Dijkstra vor 4 Tagen
From all the pictures and video's (see https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/intelligent-security-camera-cover-for-privacy-gadgets#/ as well) one would think that at least two to five perfectly fabricated and working items had been in existence prior to starting the crowdfunding campaings. On first sight this would seem like a pretty elaborate effort to start off a purposeful scam, supporting the hypothesis of it being, at least from the onset, an honest attempt.
Furthermore, the design is actually quite elegant and minimalistic, and more appealing than the alternatives (the Nope is imho also nice), which has been aknowledged by the wide support here on KS and on Indiegogo and in several
media (e.g. https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/webcam-iscc/, which also features a fairly cogent and reasonable quote from Laurent himself). It is also not a ripp-off of an already existing one such product, or at least not of something I could find rummaging for pictures via google.
Nevertheless, there are quite a few suspicious behaviours and messages from Laurent, which have been commented on here (don't see many comments on Indiegogo; latest reply there from L is two days ago that they should be shipping in June: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/intelligent-security-camera-cover-for-privacy-gadgets#/comments). As a side note, their website (http://intelligentsecurity.company) looks to be in a constant state of maintenance, which is not a comforting sign.
So what are we to expect from Laurent and his accomplices? Could it still be legit and are they, as we are writing and reading this, frantically and dilligently working in Switzerland on getting their valued customers satisfied, or has it become too complex and taxing for our Swiss buddies to complete and are they now sweating and panicking on how to dodge the consequences of their ill-advised actions? Maybe we will never know. We could have been witness to the origin story of a great criminal mastermind that will plague the already troubled European continent for decades to come, or we will (hopefully) find, somewhere in June, that our doubts and fears have been put to rest by the deliveries of our coveted prizes - but what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This "creator" is just making fun with those who invested in his idea. He is not taking them seriously and unfortunately Kickstarter also doesn't care about scam on their platform.

As the creator has formed a company, Intelligent Security S.A. in Geneva Switzerland. Just wonder any backer in Geneva can do something there, like reporting the scam there?Just a thought.

Laurent,
Almost every KS I have ever backed has had some kind of delay. This just the nature of taking a raw idea and forging it's creation, and therefore a business, from scratch. There's going to be a learning curve, there just is. The effort of which is allot more than some of these people have ever done in their lifetimes, some people just want to complain about anything they can get their hands on, ignore them.
It's just now mid May, not even the end of your initial projected shipment date. With all due respect, to heck with any of these naysayers worried that they might lose the entirety of their whopping $18 'investment'. Take your time, get it right.
and, for the record I would be glad to assume the terrible financial burden of any one of the 'Super Early Bird' investors that wants their money back.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous now. Laurent is clearly not reading the comments, or not taking his bakers seriously. We need clarification, details and assurance regarding the status of the product, not more pictures. Please stop treating your backers like kids who'd be distracted with pretty pictures.
David Tang vor 5 Tagen
What is the intention of this update #13!
As long as we can't get the products. You shows us how to cover two lens phone is totally pointless! Also by looking the pic it already shown how "serious" you are with the project and backers!!!!!!

Frank, had that been his original reason, I think people would be more welcoming to it. However, it wasn't. You were the one to relay the creators message. He didn't even think the hacking claim needed to be made aware to the people who graciously backed his project.
I think the comment you're referring to in which someone said the hacking was "extremely unlikely" was taken out of context. I don't think person was saying hacking doesn't exist, it seems as if their point was that webcam covers don't appear to be a big target for hackers. I could be wrong. With that said, believe the response if you want. It's your right to do so. However, people are allowed to question vague updates and delays without people being unnecessarily aggressive towards them. Respond how you see fit, but remember that people backed this project with their own money, not yours.
Eric Scherer vor 6 Tagen
He has an plc in geneva. To make one you need at least 100'000 CHF
Frank Fuhrmeister vor 6 Tagen
I still don't see how the hacking isn't feasible to you all. IT'S LITERALLY THE REASON YOU'RE BACKING THIS F***ING THING. Has he been forthright or transparent with us? No. But no one is arguing that. I am, however, arguing that there's a possibility that he was hacked. I've had numerous friends have their blogs and Twitter accounts hacked and hijacked. For some of you to say it's "extremely unlikely" despite having no basis for your claim is naïveté at best and sheer ignorance at worst. Get your shit together and put the proverbial two and two together…

If on the off chance someone did decide to pursue this, I would be remiss if I didn't tell you to negotiate on the price. I would be shocked if you couldn't get $0.4-$0.6 per unit pretty easily with minor negotiation.

After a 5 second search on alibaba.com I found some manufacturers that make similar products. I must admit the quality isn't what I was hoping to get here, but it is also super cheap. It looks like you can buy one for $0.8 - $1(plus shipping I assume). The minimum order is 5000 for the one I looked more closely at, but it is typical to request a sample before making a purchase. Samples usually cost a little more than the per unit cost for the minimum order, but it is standard to credit you back the difference toward the larger order if you move forward. Just an idea. ;)

Laurent,
Please check out the following pages: https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/kickstarter+basics#faq_41859 AND https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/kickstarter+basics#faq_41860. Pasted for convenience.
"What should creators do if they're having problems completing their project?
If problems come up, creators are expected to POST A PROJECT UPDATE explaining the situation. Sharing the story, speed bumps and all, is crucial. Most backers support projects because they want to see something happen and they'd like to be a part of it. Creators who are honest and transparent will usually find backers to be understanding.
It's not uncommon for things to take longer than expected. Sometimes the execution of the project proves more difficult than the creator had anticipated. If a creator is making a GOOD FAITH EFFORT to complete their project and is TRANSPARENT about it, backers should do their best to be patient and understanding while DEMANDING continued accountability from the creator.
If the problems are severe enough that the creator can't fulfill their project, creators need to find a resolution. Steps should include OFFERING REFUNDS, detailing exactly how funds were used, and other actions to SATISTFY BACKERS. For more information, see Section 4 of our Terms of Use."
"What is a creator obligated to do once their project is funded?
When a project is successfully funded, the creator is responsible for completing the project and fulfilling each reward. Their FUNDAMENTAL OBLIGATION to backers is to finish all the work that was promised. Once a creator has done so, they’ve fulfilled their obligation to their backers.
At the same time, backers must understand that Kickstarter is not a store. When you back a project, you’re helping to create something new — not ordering something that already exists. There’s a chance something could happen that prevents the creator from being able to finish the project as promised. If a creator is absolutely unable to complete the project and fulfill rewards, they must make **EVERY REASONABLE EFFORT** to find another way of bringing the project to a SATISFYING conclusion for their backers. For more information, see Section 4 of our Terms of Use."
Sarah Stegall am May 24
Just finished reporting the project and would encourage you to do so as well... If you are unfamilar on how to do this, read via https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/kickstarter+basics…. Pasted below for convenience.
"How can I report something to Kickstarter?
Every project page has a "Report this project to Kickstarter" button at the bottom of it. You can use this option to notify us about a violation of Our Rules, Community Guidelines, or Terms of Use (there's also some information about our Copyright & Trademark policies)...
While we're not able to respond to each individual report, we do have a dedicated team that investigates every report that we receive. We appreciate you bringing anything out of the ordinary to our attention!"
