About

What do Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who, Jeremy Irons, 130,000,000 year dinosaurs, smugglers, Radio, Rockets, and Electric Cars have in Common?   This project. ' Our Isle of Wight' While backing us might not get you your very own dinosaur to sit in your garden, you will be a part of a brilliant  documentary film telling the world about the wonderful people, stories and inventions that have come from here.  The Isle of Wight is a wondrous place full of surprising stories.  I love the Isle of Wight.  My son has grown up here and works here. It a wonderful place for music festivals, a place of discovery, inventions, history.  Artists, Writers, Boat builders,  Garlic  and Animal Farms,  Solar farms and the first Electric Cars.  I want to show, every one the rich history and the great future that we have here.

I am a documentary film maker who has worked with Peter O'Toole, Rutger Hauer, Whoopi Goldberg, Fay Dunaway, Kim Cattrall, and many other notable people.  I have always developed an interest in various places I have lived and worked in.  Such as Los Angeles, Spain, Australia, Scotland and Africa. I used to write travel reports about the various people and the  places I visited. Out of these places the Isle of Wight is one of the most fascinating as it has such rich and untold stories.  I want to tell the world about all the elements that make up the Isle of Wight. Academy award winning actor Jeremy Irons who was born here, will be helping me, as he will be narrating the film from start to finish.

Jeremy Irons is an Oscar Winning actor who was born here, went to school here and learnt to sail in waters near St Helens and Bembridge.

Bob Seely is going to tell us about the great artists and writers.

Dr Munt is going to tell us about the real stuff behind the dinosaurs and why the Isle of Wight is so populated by them.

Dr Roger Cottrell has worked  for World in Action, The Daily Mirror as a researcher, presenter and journalist.

Archeologist, Owen Cambridge, is going to tell us about the wrecks, and tools that date back to 7000 years ago.

Alex Lewington our editor has worked with the BBC, Chanel 4, Discovery Chanel, and National Geographic.

Alex Warren.  Jess Collard. Maurice Gilliam.

Ciaran Rogers is helping with stories and management.

Jo Macaulay is our line producer and photographer.

Tony Smart, Dr Munt, JC Medland, Ray Foulk will talk about the isle of Wight Festivals, Rockets, Electric Cars, The designer of Richard Branson's Ballons, Dinosaurs, John Giidings will tell us abour Festivals events of today. All in this Documentary film.

Our camera men all work professionally.

Chris Quinton, and Dan Thornton will compose some wonderful tunes to go along with some scenes. Our music will be helped along by Dick Taylor the lead Guitarist of the famous band The Pretty Things who were at the 1969 Isle of Wight concert with Bob Dylan.

Everyone involved in this film either lives here, or is from here.  This is an Isle of Wight Production one hundred percent.

All of us have a keen passion and love for the Isle of Wight. We want and need you to help us tell this story.

Risks and challenges

With over 2.4 million visitors a year and with all the growing interest in the Isle of Wight, it is about time that people realise how truly extraordinary The Isle of Wight is. Of course when making a film there are risks that the weather will hinder the time schedule. The logistics and organisation of locations. Scheduling times and meetings with interviewees are all quite serious challenges. All the challenges we face will be dealt with by having a team of professionals who have come together as we are all devoted to this project and we all have close ties with the Isle of Wight.
