We are a Norwegian 'float pop' trio called I SEE RIVERS, currently based in Wales. At the moment we are working on our debut album due in 2020 and thanks to the support from PRS Women Make Music and Horizons Launchpad we've already been able to start recording and producing the album with Owain Fleetwood Jenkins, Alec Brits, Emilie Krogh Johannessen and Toby Couling in a beautiful studio called StudiOwz in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The first single of this album, Helios, was released 31st of May 2019 and we feel so humble for all the support so far from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Radio X, Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, BBC Radio Wales, Spotify's New Music Friday, JA JA JA Magazine and Wonderland Magazine, to name a few. This autumn we're heading back into the studio to record the remaining of the album and we're kindly asking you to help us fund these recordings as well as the mixing and mastering for the release next year.
Although we are all originally from Norway, we met in Liverpool whilst studying and have we've recently moved to Pembrokeshire in Wales. We fell in love with the Welsh coast line and mountains whilst recording our first EP at ‘StudiOwz’ with Owain Jenkins. Our musical soundscape has been associated with artists such as Fleet Foxes, Sufjan Stevens and First Aid Kit but our 2020 album has an added new electronic direction.
I SEE RIVERS are Eline (Keys, vocals, percussion), Gøril (guitar, vocals, drum pad) and Lill (drums, vocals). We love to sing together in three-part harmonies and we try to stay busy by switching instruments between the the three of us. When we're not writing and recording we love showcasing our music live, and we try our utmost to bring positivity and good vibes through our live performances.
Risks and challenges
As part of our kickstarter campaign, the main challenge, we think, will be composing and recording the personalised pieces of music at the same time as we're in the studio recording for this album. However, making music is what we love to do, and especially as we know that it will go to one of you lovely people, we are confident that we'll find the time. Please be patient with us as we will be making sure it's done properly for you personally.
As we're still recording the album, the timings of the delivery of the actual album is also a bit difficult to know for certain but we are aiming for Spring 2020. There is a lot to take into consider when delivering an album, especially as an independent act. Transparency and honesty is very important to us and we want to make sure that you feel happy in the exchange that we're making, so if you have any questions or concerns, please send a message through Kickstarter and we'll get back to you as soon as we possibly can!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
