Indietabletop - "This is a must have for your collection and a fantastic filler in between the hours of dense gaming. Not to mention, for a novice, this game proves to be easy to learn and express hours of entertainment for a 20 minute game."
-Joseph N., Indietabletop
Board Game Authority - "With a minimalist art style, San, Ni, Ichi looks surprisingly good on the table. The graphic design and illustrations are slick and well done. If you are looking for a quick and light filler game, San, Ni, Ichi can fit the bill."
-Richard M., Board Game Authorty
The Game Map - "At much less than half an hour in length, it is one of the best games I have played for a quick pickup."
-Will L., The Game Map
It’s a fact - we all wish we could be ninjas. Well, wish granted! In the game of San, Ni, Ichi, you will be taking on the role of a martial artist who has mastered combat using the three elements: fire, water, and wood. Each game will engage you in a thrilling battle to determine who is the greatest ninja master of all time!
The game takes only seven rounds, so the play-time is short. But each round will have players guessing, planning, and making tactical decisions to outwit their opponents. Its a simple card game that has a unique mechanic, cool art, and just the right amount of theme.
We have playtested San, Ni, Ichi with ninjas of all ages and all levels of gaming experience, receiving positive reviews all around. We've seen casual matches between nongamers (aka my 87 year old grandmother - "It's fun!") and strategic deathmatches between seasoned gamers ("I will end you!"). The level of complexity can vary depending on the group of people, adapting to all styles of play. The most important part - it's always quick and fun to play.
San, Ni, Ichi is a variant on trick taking games. However, in San, Ni, Ichi each player controls a trick that represents combat taking place over the course of a fight. Each player has attack and weapon cards that can add to tricks or manipulate the tricks to their strategic advantage.
Adding to tricks with attack cards can stack massive amounts of damage, counter attacks, or defend based on how the cards are played. The weapons are just bonkers. The Sai, for instance, swaps tricks between players while the Shuriken deals unstoppable damage.

People on the internet are talking about San, Ni, Ichi!
Check out this great podcast Sweet Kicks with Bricks where Mike Sette, the game's designer, discusses the process of making San, Ni, Ichi and running a Kickstarter campaign for the first time.
We genuinely believe San, Ni, Ichi is an awesome game as-is. We have worked our tails off getting it ready, but with these stretch goals we can make it even better for you! There are opportunities for better quality cards, advanced rule sets, different modes of play, better case organization and other great extras.
"Either you karate do 'yes' or karate do 'no.' You karate do 'guess so,' <squish> just like grape." -Mr Miyagi
Well, it is decided, ..karate do, 'yes!' We've reached our goal and now we will add on limited edition giclee prints to all backer levels. Giclees prints are archival reproductions and considered works of art. You can add on as many prints as you like for $25 each.
How to get a print:
1. Click the “manage your pledge” button on the right side
2. Increase your pledge by the amount needed to claim the add-on(s) ($25 per print).
3. Save your pledge. Do not change the tier that you originally pledged at.
4. When you receive your backer survey, you will have the opportunity to tell us what prints you would like to get. - It's as easy as ichi, ni, san!
Haiya! We are now shipping a limited edition postcard featuring San, Ni, Ichi artwork along with all copies of the game. We will design 6 unique variants. Which one will you get? We'll roll a D6 and see. Who knows, maybe one variant will end up being SUPER-RARE!!! Gotta catch 'em all.
Banzai! We made it! We're excited for this one - we will ship 6 playmats as aides for players. These will be carefully designed within the aesthetic of San, Ni, Ichi. They will be super informative... and fun... like the Natural History Museum.
At $8,500 we will release a hidden role game play variant. The game will play the same as San, Ni, Ichi but one ninja will be the master of unorthodox strategies and attempt to win in a very unusual (and secret) manner. Banzai!
This stretch goal is a mystery! Lets make it happen!
We want you to love us! or at least 'like' us. When we reach 250 likes on our Facebook page, we will add a blooper reel to our Kickstarter page and our Youtube channel. It's really funny and I think everyone will get a KICK out of it (pun assuredly intended). When we reach 500 likes, we will ship an assortment of stickers along with all copies of the game. They will feature art and graphics from the game. They will be the best.
Why Back San, Ni, Ichi?
As the premier project from Ironmark Games, you will be giving us our start in the industry. Backing this project will not only get you a copy of the game; it will allow us to continue making bigger and better games - and believe us, there are some great things in the works!
Ironmark Games is a collective of nerds who share a common passion for gaming and game development. We host a game group each week (now in its seventh year), record podcasts, and attend various conventions throughout the year. We began this company in the hopes that we can bring some of our ideas and projects to the world.
Risks and challenges
Our game has been extensively playtested and is ready to go. We have artwork completed, and a dependable production company in place. Time is our biggest concern when it comes to you the backer. While we have estimates for the timeline, there are always things that could come up that are out of our control.
This may be our first Kickstarter project, but we have a wealth of information and resources that we have been able to use. We are confident that we can get this game into your hands in a timely fashion.
Should any issues arise, we will be open about them and continue to keep you updated. We always share our processes in game making, and this project is no different.
