The Five Cores is a graphic puzzle game released in 2012 and also the first game I made. An ambitious love letter to Myst which suffered from a lack of budget.
It's time to build the original vision and let this project shine again!
The nightmares of a mysterious girl sleeping in a temple are destroying the real world. You have to wake her in order to stop this chaos.
The girl's sleep is controlled by 4 magic stones called "cores" that you have to activate in order to wake her.
You also have to discover the secret behind the 5th core.
WHAT I WANTED TO DO
In the original version of the game, the story wasn't developed the way it should so now you have to help me do this. My idea was that the girl's nightmares are connected to the real world and you experience an unstable environment with weird behaviors.
To give you an example, you explore land on a beach, peaceful and sunny, and you slowly start to notice some cracks on the ground, some trees on fire etc..
The environment changes progressively from normal to chaos.
I also want to connect the dots between the story and the puzzles. I knew exactly what story I wanted to tell but the final result remains too abstract for the audience.

I'm a 33yo indie game developer and I live in France. I studied Computer graphics at Sup'infograph Paris, worked for big companies like BUF and MAC GUFF (Arthur and the invisibles, Despicable Me) before starting to learn video game development by myself. I released my first game The Five Cores in 2012 with no knowledge and no money.
After that I hugely increased my knowledge by creating a lot of prototypes in different genres.

Risks and challenges
I will be focused on the game itself and put all the money on it. To be able to do this, I won't offer any physical rewards.
I can deliver but I need to minimize the amount of undirect work around the project. That's why this campaign is minimalist.
