Thank you once again for your support and patience in waiting for the iPen 2! We apologize for the delay in the shipment of some of your orders; however, because the defective rate of the first mass-produced products for any company is generally higher than the average defective rate thereafter, we are testing each individual iPen prior to shipment to ensure that everyone receives a perfect stylus. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding in the matter and we are doing our best to ship out as many iPen 2 orders as quickly as possible.
For those of you who decided to hold your orders until the iPad Air 2 model is released, we have good news for you! We are planning on releasing the iPad Air 2 model by the end of April or early May of this year. We are very excited to bring the iPad Air 2 model to all of you, as it is the only stylus on the market that is currently compatible with the iPad Air 2.
For those of you who have already received your iPen 2, we hope you are enjoying everything that the iPen 2 has to offer! Soon, you will be able to use even more apps with the iPen 2, as we are currently in contact with and have sent samples to the creators of amazing apps such as Concepts, Zen Brush, Explain Everything, Sketch Club, and Notepad +. If there are any apps that you want to see integrated with the iPen 2, we recommend shooting an e-mail to the developers of your favorite app and letting them know that there are people who are eager to use their app with the iPen 2. Not only will this help us initiate the integration process, it will also get you your favorite apps faster!
If you’re like us and think that the iPen 2 is truly the best stylus out there, we encourage you to share your thoughts here so other people can know more about our amazing stylus!
To those of you who are waiting for refunds, as mentioned in our update last year, all of our funds have been devoted to iPen 2 development, which is why we released the new Cregle ink to generate additional revenue to support iPen 2 production and to also issue refunds to those who required them urgently. We sincerely apologize for the delay; however, please be assured that you will receive your refund once we generate sufficient revenue to do so. We thank you for your patience and understanding, and we will continue to fulfill refund requests as soon as funds become available.
Thank you all so much again for your support, and we will be sure to keep you updated as we continue to ship out the iPen 2.
For backers only. If you're a backer of this project, please log in to read this post.
We are very happy to inform you all that we have begun to ship the iPen 2 (iPad model)! However, please note that if you chose the 30-pin iPad model as your perk, we will not be able to ship your perk until you update your chosen model to the iPad 4 model or iPad Air model. If you do not wish to upgrade your iPad to one of these newer iPad models, we will issue a refund to you for your pledge.
Because we cannot modify the existing survey, which does not allow backers to choose the iPad Air model, please send us a private message with your preferred model and we will manually update your order for you. For those who wish to wait for the iPad Air 2 model, which we mentioned in the most recent production update, you can also send us a private message and we will update your order. However, please note that the iPad Air 2 receiver case will not be available for at least two months. If you have any other questions regarding your chosen perk, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, we apologize for the confusion concerning the address change link. To simplify the address change process, you can update your address by logging into your Kickstarter account and updating it manually. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Please note that our current production capacity is limited. Some backers may not receive their iPen at the same time as others do. However, we can assure you that we will be shipping out orders every day and that every backer will receive their perk, as promised.
Regarding iPen 2 supported apps, our Calibrator app and the ibisPaint app are now available in the App Store for public download. We are currently working with several app developers to bring you a wide variety of apps with which you can use the iPen 2. In our Calibrator app, users can view the list of supportive apps in the “App List”. We will update this list whenever a new supportive app is integrated with the iPen 2, and users can view these updates. ZoomNotes has just submitted the integrated version of their app, which should be available for download in approximately a week.
Finally, when you receive your iPen 2 and you are ready to start using it, please note that the iPen 2 cannot function when placed under a strong light; this is because the iPen 2 receiver detects the stylus’s movement using a light signal. Under a strong light, the receiver will fail to recognize the stylus’s movement. Under such circumstances, a pop-up window will appear on the screen to notify the user. Despite this minor restriction, we believe that you will be able to enjoy using the iPen 2 without having to worry considerably about being interrupted by external factors.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed and supported us for over a year, we cannot be happier to finally be shipping the iPen 2 to all of you. We owe you all our thanks and gratitude, and we sincerely hope you all love the iPen 2 as much as we do. Again, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to e-mail us at email@example.com.
iPad Air 2 Compatibility
We have received many inquiries regarding the iPen 2’s compatibility with the new iPad Air 2; therefore, we would like to keep you up to date on our production plans and progress related to the Air 2.
We are definitely planning on making the iPen 2 compatible with the iPad Air 2 in the near future; however, because we are still in the process of developing and testing the necessary parts, the iPen 2 will not be fully compatible with the iPad Air 2 by the end of this year.
The necessary part in question is the plastic receiver case, which differs depending on the iPad model being used. As shown in the photo below, the current receiver case built for the first iPad Air does not fit the iPad Air 2 because the Air 2 is 18% thinner than the first iPad Air. For those waiting for the iPad Air 2 receiver to be released, the receiver case for the first iPad Air can be used as a temporary solution while you wait, but again, it will not fit perfectly and may affect the performance of the iPen 2.
Furthermore, there is no need to worry about having to buy a new receiver or a new iPen 2 stylus when we have completed the iPad Air 2 receiver. We will sell the receiver case alone for those who wish to purchase it separately.
We will be sure to notify everyone once we have finalized the release schedule for the Air 2 receiver.
iPen 2 Mass Production
Everything is going as planned with the mass production process and we are beginning to receive our first completed ready-for-shipment iPen 2 styluses. We are just as excited to ship them out as you are, but first we need to make sure everything is all right with these first few styluses before we ship them out to all of our backers.
While we perform our quality checks on these iPen 2, we would like to remind you to update your shipping address ASAP if there have been any shipping address changes. To update your shipping address, please refer to this LINK.
Finally, we at Cregle would like to take this time to thank you again for your continued support, we could not have done this without you and we are looking forward to sharing the fruit of our year’s worth of hard work with you.
