Wasteland 2 has been released to great acclaim, hitting #1 top seller on Steam and winning Game of the Year from PCWorld! Thanks to all our backers for helping us make this game a reality!
61,290 backers pledged $2,933,252 to help bring this project to life.

And it begins...

We did it!  Thanks to each and every one of you, we have completed our incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign.  It has been an amazing ride and one of the most memorable achievements I’ve ever had.  Being able to interact with you all on such a personal level has been amazing.  I can’t imagine going back to making games any other way.  With Double Fine’s success, the world was watching to see if that was an anomaly or if this fan-funded approach could be a viable means of changing the world of video games.  Together, we’ve proved that fan-funding is here to stay and we can’t wait to see where you take it next.  We are fully committed to doing whatever we can to keep this movement alive and strong.

Before we move on to what’s next, some quick housekeeping:  We’ve received messages from some backers saying there were issues when Amazon tried to apply the payment.  Kickstarter said they would contact you if this was the case.  You can also check to make sure it worked correctly by logging into Kickstarter.  They give 7 days to correct your payments, so please check it soon.  After that grace-period, your pledge and reward is cancelled, and nobody wants that to happen!

Now on to the fun stuff… If your tier contained any rewards where we need to gather your information fo use in the game, we will soon be doing so through Kickstarter.  Keep on the lookout for this notification.  There is no need to update your shipping address yet as we will collect it when we get closer to the release of the game next year.

We have opened up a store at http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/store.  We currently have the digital copy available for $20, and we will leave that preorder up during production.  If you have friends that missed out on the Kickstarter but still want a copy of the game, they can go there and still get it cheaper than after it is released. Also, if you forgot to add $15 for international shipping on physical rewards, we have added a PayPal option to do so in the store.  In the near future, we will open a backer-only store with some great exclusive items that won’t be available to the general public.

So, now we get started on the game!  We are in full production mode for the next 18 months.  Expect to see many updates as we start to shape the experience that you’ve helped create.  If you want to stay in the loop in between our Kickstarter updates, head to our blog and forums at http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/.  We will be spending a lot of time interacting with all of you there.

      @Chet

No, they don't mean paid through paypal. They mean donated through paypal, skipping kickstarter entirely.

    2. Creator Chet on April 24, 2012

My support was paid through PayPal and it shows that I'm a supporter when I log into this site.
So, I believe the PayPal support is already counted unfortunately.

    3. Creator Stephen Chan on April 22, 2012

Also don't forget about preorders they'll be getting in the next few months.

    4. Creator temotodochi on April 21, 2012

They did make over 3 million, dont forget about paypaled support which does not show up in kickstarter.

    5. Creator jonesjm8 on April 21, 2012

I noticed we didn't quite make it to the $3 million mark for the mod kit. If I recall correctly, Mr. Fargo was planning on chipping in a little bit himself to help make this happen. Any chance of overlooking that last $67G to help make that happen?

      @cosurgi
The project had to be $600,000 over initial goal for the team to promise OS X and Linux support, and to pull that off, they really just need to code OS specific main executables for the program. The iPad would also require radical adjustments to the interface and many of the resources for the program would require adaptation. But, wouldn't that be cool?! InXile proved they are iOS savvy with their excellent "Fantastic Contraption" and their upgraded port of 2004's "The Bard's Tale".

      Hi,
I LOVE fallout 1.2 and 2 ! This game is the only reason for which I taught myself the english language :-) When I heard that you are going to make a new version I was so happy.

Now I have a serious question. Guys, since you have so much money, are you going to make a version which will work on the New IPAD ?

      thanks!

    8. Creator David Davalos on April 20, 2012

Karl Zylinski: Yeah, I like Fallout: New Vegas' style of DLC. All three were huge epic quests that were well worth the money. Old World Blues is probably the funniest thing I have played in quite awhile.

    9. Creator Benoît Bazin on April 19, 2012

If you say right, I did misunderstand. I thought it was in-game items.

    10. Creator Karl Zylinski on April 18, 2012

Liam: Someone just misundestood what "items in shop" meant, he thought it meant mini-DLCs when it meant like physical t-shirts and other stuff.

By the way: DLC is a retarded acronym that means a heck load of things. Once upon a time there was a word known as "expansion". Expansions added large chunks of new content, it could often be as large as 1/3 of the original game. When DLC actually means those kinds of expansions, it's really cool.

    11. Creator Liam Kinney on April 18, 2012

Why are you people already talking about DLC? they haven't made the game yet! and remember they're not being published by EA

    12. Creator Ben Lucas on April 18, 2012

I'm assuming they mean t-shirts and what not :P

      Not DLC

    13. Creator Nein Eins on April 18, 2012

I never had a problem with DLC when it actually added something new and cool to the game. By actually adding new content and increasing play time.

Cosmetic DLC items that are 5$ buck for 6 new guns or horse armor? No, thanks!

New areas and adventures? Yes, please!

So boo hoo if hey decide to make DLC for the game, you don't have to buy it if you don't like it. Also, inXile hasn't said anything about making DLC for the game. I'm pretty sure they're just focused on making the game right now.

    14. Creator Karl Zylinski on April 18, 2012

Benoit: I'm pretty sure they mean physical goods, like buying t-shirts and such items in order to continue supporting inXile.

    15. Creator Benoît Bazin on April 18, 2012

"In the near future, we will open a backer-only store with some great exclusive items that won’t be available to the general public."

So the game will include DLCs ? Bad new.

    16. Creator Robert Kaufmann on April 18, 2012

Payment fixed. Now take my money! :3

    17. Creator Troy on April 18, 2012

Fixing payment tomorrow when I get paid.

    18. Creator Johnny Hällgren on April 18, 2012

I had some problems with payment at first. The banks here in Sweden have a software that allows us to create "digital" VISA-cards for internet-payments. That did not work for me, but when I switched to my real VISA there were no problems.

    19. Creator Luis Eduardo Guedes Martins on April 18, 2012

Im proud to be part of this

    20. Creator Benjamin Logue on April 18, 2012

Congratulations to Fargo and everyone at inXile! Happy to contribute, and very excited to see what happens when game developers have free reign to work on exactly the kind of project they're passionate about.

    21. Creator Ethan L on April 18, 2012

I'm excited; do good work inXile! (...and please have fun. If you don't have fun making this game then i want my money back!)

    22. Creator Garrett Holland on April 18, 2012

I hope the Backer T shirt or some variation is in the store so I can buy it later

    23. Creator Richard Kooyer on April 18, 2012

I have Skyrim to continue to play until this comes around. Plus Sins of a Solar Empire. All I got is time. Plus Grad School.

    24. Creator Roman Grazhdan on April 18, 2012

My second fav project here so far is Shadowrun, then Banner Saga and Starlight Inception.

And yes, I'd rather wait longer for the better game, too.

    25. Creator Rade Martinović on April 18, 2012

@Yngve me too. I was away on holiday trip (with lousy net and almost always outdoors) when extra things were added for 30$ tier.

    26. Creator Ankroth on April 18, 2012

18 months of waiting? No problem, I will play Diablo 3 and then... Wasteland 2! :P

    27. Creator Killer on April 18, 2012

I hope I can purchase more Ranger portraits in the upcoming Kickstarters-only store.

    28. Creator Alexandra on April 18, 2012

I wonder who are those lucky guys who pledged 10k $

    29. Creator Immanuel Scholz on April 18, 2012

18 months still sounds like a rush to me.. :-O I don't mind a delay of a couple of months if you need more time for polishing.

(Then again... Brain Fargo isn't the Bobblehead who can only promise games. :-) )

    30. Creator Petteri Kaakinen on April 18, 2012

Jane Jensen's adventure games are much more interesting than a LSL remake.

    31. Creator Cameron (BLINK) on April 18, 2012

MY most anticipated games for next year:
Wasteland 2, Leisure Suit Larry & The Dead Linger.
ALL Kickstarter projects, nothing from the "Big name publishers" even interests me anymore except the fallout series. Brian was right to come here for his game instead of giving up on it.
Check them out guys! (Obviously you already know about Wasteland 2 if you are here).

Did we make the Mod Tools?
There was 60+k in the PayPal account

Please include my other favorite in your "givin back"-Campaign: Banner Saga!
Help them in the finaly countdown see http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stoic/the-banner-saga/posts/209957

    36. Creator Kabraxis on April 18, 2012

Hell yeah. Hopefully the next classic will also reach its kickstarter goal.. Leisure Suit Larry. It was so funny, would be awesome. :D

    37. Creator ET3D on April 18, 2012

I think that the $20 pre-order, backer store and ability to add missing shipping are financially astute.

    38. Creator Floob on April 18, 2012

@Leith: Not 900k, 113k in Paypal ;) Still enough to get to 3M$

    39. Creator nils on April 18, 2012

      Congratulations, Brian & Team!

    40. Creator Matthias Rolf on April 18, 2012

Nice to see this is another huge success.
Now, you guys at inXile just have to prove this whole crowd-funding thing can actually churn out good games. No pressure, right? ;)

    41. Creator Tarzit on April 18, 2012

Возможно российские адреса принимает,а белорусские нет. Но у меня после смены адреса сработало, точно на той же карте.

    42. Creator Tarzit on April 18, 2012

Konstantin по крайней мере в Беларуси точно не в банке дело. Запрос от Амазона на процессинг просто не приходит. Я звонил в процессинговыйцентр банка уточнял.

    43. Creator Leith on April 18, 2012

Yes we unlocked 3mil as there was 900k in PayPal funding. Well that's what is being said so far. I stand corrected on this if I am wrong.

    44. Creator SquigPie on April 18, 2012

Oh, and didn't we unlock the 3 million milestone?

    45. Creator SquigPie on April 18, 2012

Are the 30$ Novella and Portrait Collection Rewards digital or physical?

    46. Creator Konstantin on April 18, 2012

Issue with payments from CIS (СНГ in cyrillic) depends on bank. I used 2 different banks with Amazon and PayPal without any problems. With billing address in Russia.
For backers living in CIS I can recomend to try another bank. As a variant you can try instant issue cards or virtual cards. In Russia you can try to use Qiwi Bank.

      For Russian-speaking folks:
Qiwi Bank.
