I am encouraged that Cameron continues to check in to this site regularly. Cameron, you can tell us where things stand. Some possibilities:
      1. You have found a technical hurdle and have not been able to figure the solution out yet.
      2. You have run out of money and can't move forward.
      3. Your time is now devoted to something else.
      4. You have not been able to pass XX certification.

It is OK to let us know. You can say something like:
      1. "The controls I have set up are erratic. I can't figure it out. Anyone experienced in this that I can talk to on the phone?"
      2. "I way underestimated the cost. The manufacturer wants more to set up than I have in my bank account." (The coffee maker La Fenice, also a Kickstarter, recently alerted supporters that it had happened to them, but their coffee business profits were paying for the additional funds as they came in. Certainly slower, but an honorable attempt at fulfilling their goal.) You have said this once, but it may be time to say that this is the problem and, while delayed, it will come. "Here is my project plan: http://plan.invergo.com."; You may be 80% finished and have no funds to go further. Let us know.
      3. "I have a new job that is demanding all my time, I am getting married, my dog just died, I am depressed and I have started another project. The Invergo sits on my lab bench and Syracuse has told me they want a share of the profits from a patented product developed with their support.
      4. "The electrical certification has not been achieved yet. The certifiers keep changing the goal or asking about safety items that seem unusually strict."

In any of these cases, let us know. We continue to be your supporters as long as you communicate regularly.

      Thanks for reading this.

Hell, even just confirmation that the project has officially failed would be helpful.

    3. Yeongrok Gim vor 1 Tag

This is not a store, that's why backer care about your progress, Cameron. Please share your experiences with Invergo. EVEN IF THERE ARE HURDLES.

    4. David Watson vor 2 Tagen

I've written this one off - but that's Kickstarter. As others have pointed out, this isn't a store; we're all taking our chances to help bring a new product to market. I see no reason to believe that Cameron scammed us. It's an all-to-common story of an inventor who had no clue how hard it is to move from idea to reality. At this point, it would be nice if Cameron just admitted that the project is dead, and told us the story of what happened. Then we can all move on, perhaps to back other projects (I have), perhaps not.

Bob, great enthusiasm here but I think mark u has called it correctly

    6. Bob Fraser vor 4 Tagen

Cameron, I hope you are making progress and that you have not come to a hurdle you consider unsurmountable. I still think this is an ingenious product and still support you. I am a sucker for coffee makers. I have supported three machines and all three are well over a year past the estimated time. I know this is a challenging project and I really look forward to its completion. Would you be so kind as to let us know where the problems are? I know you have run short of funds, but it would help if you conveyed some specifics. All the best.

Cameron isnt a crook, a con man, or any other synonym in the book... he had a hell of an idea and through 2 campaigns, found out that he didnt raise enough capital when the 2nd was funded.

I truly know Mark's frustrations and 100% want a working INVERGO or my money back. I dont see either coming to fruition in 2016.

Cameron, if you have no news, say it in an update or on this board. Your secrecy and/or lack of communication is what causes most of the strife in your backers attitudes. At least confirm your graduation from Syracuse or that you have a job, or even a significant other that takes up your time and the INVERGO is an after thought.

We, the people posting, arent interested in messing with you, we want to see our just rewards for backing you come to fruition.

    9. mut3 am October 24

Wow MissYourMark, that seems like a kind of ironic email you sent, calling someone vile, and yet saying things like that to him.

As noted throughout the website, Kickstarter is not a store. It is quite possible someone could properly manage a project and still fail or run into issues. I agree it would be nice to hear more information regularly, but there is no reason to talk that way to someone.

    10. Bob Fraser am October 23

Cameron, I am not one to heap abuse and will not now. However, it is professional practice on Kickstarter to keep your backers up to date. Obviously you have run into hurdles. Please, tell us what they are. Bring us into the picture. Lots of Kickstarter projects are way late and I have supported my share. The difference in customer satisfaction is your level of communication. At this, you have not done well. If you plan to continue to be an entrepreneur, you have to get better at communication. No communication is very frustrating for us and leads to dark thoughts.

      Michael,
I clicked on the creator's name to the right of the Invergo picture above. That tells you last check in. I have one unfulfilled Kickstarter order with the last check in in January. I am not very sanguine about that project.

Bob, how do you know Cameron logged on; if you know how to contact Cameron, could you share it with your fellow backers

Mark, glad to hear from a backer who understands this situation, but we may have been misled more than once here

Jerry, don't think all of us support Cameron and for those who missed it, here's the update:

      1. No beta units shipped on Cameron's promised date; that's the second time this happened

      2. No word from Cameron in 4 months

      3. No help from support@kickstarter to get Cameron to respond

I wonder how many backers provided Cameron with the additional $25 he requested over the summer

Based upon the publicly available information at places like home barista and what's happened with our project, I don't understand why anyone would preorder an invergo at this time

    15. Avatar fehlt

      V Hanes am October 12

A friend had a question about pre-ordering so he contacted them through the Invergo website a week or two ago but hasn't heard anything back. So it's not just here that's gone radio silent. Not terribly reassuring.

Cameron, It is really good news to me that you logged in recently. It would help even more if you just dropped us an update that says you are still working on the project and expect to see it through to production, even though delayed. I do not believe you misled us: you are an innovator and found many hurdles. Share them with us. It will help our empathy. Absence of communication breeds anger for some, as must seem obvious.

    18. Mark U. am October 6

Cameron misled us regarding his ability to deliver these machines with the funds raised by this campaign. Perhaps only the threat of a class action lawsuit will inspire him to put in a modicum of effort and confirm what we are all suspecting at this point.

@Cameron, Thanks for the update - Invergo is looking terrific and I believe it will be a huge success for you since you have stayed focused and are putting out a quality product. Although backers always want to get their perks on time most would prefer to get a solid product later than a poorly functioning product earlier (count me in that group). I was critical when this project first began due to the undisclosed need for additional funding but you won me over by your sheer determination to make this work (which is why I support Kickstarter to begin with - so see your vision become reality and to be part of your journey). I have seen your growth in maturity as an entrepreneur and I'm very impressed you have done what you have with the limited resources available to you. You have learned from your mistakes and they have made you better. Success is based on experience and experience is the opportunity to have made mistakes and learned from them. Regarding ways to get additional capital into your campaign, I'm wondering if it would help if your KS backers pledged for ceramic kits on IGG? I'm guessing that most people originally pledged for the brewer but not the ceramics. Can KS backers add ceramics to their pledge via your $1 IGG pledge level and if so would that help improve your margins for early bird KS backers (I would think it would)? If so, can KS backers just add up all the ceramic parts they want from your IGG menu and pledge that amount at the $1 pledge level (doing so would require you to send out a survey to get the ceramic order right). Lastly I have a suggestion: watching the 2-axis pour is such a novel and important selling point you want the visual effect to be as good as possible. I noticed in your video that the surface of the rotating pouring mechanism looks slightly unfinished which detracts from the visual effect. Perhaps that appearance is due to it's being a pre-production prototype; hopefully in the final version the exposed rotating plates will have a cleaner and more polished appearance. BTW - the LCD screen is looking AWESOME - you've continued to refine the graphics and cleaned that up considerably. Good job and keep up the great work.

@Cameron, thank you for responding. I was taken back quite a bit that you used the KS info on Indegogo, https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/invergo-automated-pour-over-coffee-system--2#/
I also appreciate for the first time (that I can remember) you acknowledging you were in over your head. A little humility goes a long way.
I hope that all platforms yield success for you in the future. As much as KS is a great place to have an idea come to life, we backers are very unforgiving at times. Good on you on keeping things moving along.

What's the projected delivery time for the beta units

    38. Cameron Hughes 2 eigene Projekte am June 7

      @darth Squatch
      1. We will do our best to deliver by the end of the year as of now we are on track to deliver in early October.
      2. Less than 5 people have formally requested refunds and as I have explained before I will refund any one who wants a refund when we are shipping.

The pour over sets have not been delivered because shipping them separately would cost too much. ~15 to ship just the machine ~17 to ship them together and ~25 to ship them separately.

In all honesty when I first started this project I was in way over my head and can understand why you may still be skeptical. Since then I have learned a great deal and now I am certain of what needs to be done in order for me to fulfill my promise to you. I still believe Invergo will change the way people make coffee and all I am asking is that you believe in my ability to bring it to you.

I am subsidizing the machines because I want to deliver a higher quality product. I did so fully aware of the financial impact it would have on me and the company. I could have delivered the machine at a cost that would have not put me in this position. However, I feel people would be more disappointed receiving low quality product rather than being politely asked to pay a little more.

We have never paid for office space it was given to us by Syracuse University and that included a student monetary prize as well.

I just read the update about the Indegogo campaign. I was curious of the other backers thoughts on...
      1. The promise to get Invergos to each of us by the end of the year
      2. Whether or not to subsidize Cameron's Indegogo campaign for an additional $25 each.
I am personally not against it, but the fact that he had promised multiple people refunds of their money at time of delivery to everyone, not delivering the pour over sets, etc etc just have me skeptical of offering another penny. Plus, if he is truly subsidizing each of our units, is that because of his money management skills? The extraordinar time involved? Or another reason.
Does anyone remember the update with him showing that they were paying for office space? Lol, I just made myself smile. I wonder if the $5k he is requesting covers that great idea...
      Cheers everyone.

@Cameron - Thanks for the update! Keep plugging along - you are making great progress. Even though no one likes to wait any longer than needed I for one (if not most backers) would rather you get it right than be a few weeks earlier. In particular, your LCD is such a prominent focal point I fully agree you need the right part or it will be too hard to read and ruin the user experience. You've worked too hard to make that compromise at this point. Keep up the good work - I have faith in you and I'm looking forward to posting positive reviews that will help you succeed and grow your company.
