About this project
“Enter the night world…”
'Into the World Inverted' is a feature length film that tells the story of two best friends, Vivi and Violet, who wander aimlessly through the streets of Scotland one night, searching for the meaning of life. Throughout their journey, we hear what matters most in life through the peculiar perspective of several strange and surreal characters they meet along the way. As they venture deeper into the night, the lines between dreams and reality begin to blur. Vivi and Violet wonder whether they've somehow stumbled into an alternate night world that only exists when the conditions are just right.
WHAT INSPIRED INTO THE WORLD INVERTED?
Johnny Clyde came up with the concept when he was working graveyard shifts. On his days off, he was unable to sleep at night so he would walk for hours around town waiting for the sun to rise. He took note of how empty and different everything felt. Everyone you saw in passing held so much more meaning than the day walkers who fit into the crowds. Johnny would take his guitar to random suburban neighborhoods and compose on the curbs, finding a certain peace in the fact that when people woke up the next morning, they would have absolutely no idea that someone wrote a song on their sidewalk. This is the same message that Into the World Inverted embodies; a single night adventure full of unexplainable, surreal stories, washed away by the sun and early morning joggers.

Making the leap from short film to feature length is daunting. Not only does the process require planning, man hours and dedication, it also requires decent chunk of funding. We have been very fortunate that we have secured some fantastic equipment and locations for free thanks to the generosity of friends and coworkers. However, we still need a budget to bring Into the World Inverted to life and make the film the best it can possibly be. Your pledges will pay for accommodation, transport, extra equipment rental, access to sets and locations, as well as making sure our cast and crew are well looked after. Into The World Inverted will be filmed entirely during the hours of darkness, and we need to make sure our actors are safe and comfortable throughout this testing production. Any additional funds will be put towards festival fees and distribution, so that as many people as possible can enjoy this rich, exciting film.
We are so grateful for every little bit of support, no matter how big or small. As a token of our infinite appreciation, we have some fantastic rewards for all our backers. These will range from posters, digital downloads and original film props to one of a kind creations such as original compositions by Johnny Clyde and dream like illustrations by lead actresses Nina Viola and Taylor Dolan. Take a look at the different reward levels for full details of what’s on offer. All rewards come with a generous side order of gratitude!

Risks and challenges
If we are successfully funded, we will begin principal photography in September. The shoot will last for 20 days. Since 98% of the story takes place at night, we'll be shooting practically only nights. Which means we have to squeeze a lot of shooting into very little time.
£10,000 is also an incredibly low budget for a feature film, but we're sure we can do it. Our tight knit team consists of many dedicated artists who have been working on no-budget projects for the last several years under even more difficult time constraints. We are all incredibly driven and eager to begin working on Into the World Inverted.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
