Isometric dungeon map posters: Computer RPG map is a timeline of CRPGs; Tabletop RPG map is a silly/serious selection guide.
Don't pledge for the limited/sold out options! Those are old, more expensive prices. It is easiest to ignore them. I was able to find a different printer, but the same quality, at a much better price. So I'm passing the savings on! As people back out their old pledges, I can clear out the more expensive ones. Sorry for the confusion, but I'm not allowed to simply edit a reward if anyone has backed it.
About a year and a half ago Inkwell Ideas posted a Tabletop RPG selection chart. Many people liked it a lot even though it was just a flowchart in Visio. Ever since then we've had it in the back of our minds to do a revision, if it could be made visually interesting. Hopefully, this project does that! Further, we considered if the idea could be applied to something else game related, and the Computer RPG Timeline chart was born. Get each as a 36"x24" poster on 100lb. Gloss Cover paper. They will ship rolled.
Note: All the game rooms in both maps will be upgraded with extra graphics as in the D&D 0e, BECMI, AD&D 1e, & Lejendary Adventure rooms shown in the sample above.
Above: sample of the Computer RPG Timeline poster map.
You can see prototypes below as roughly 1-page 300dpi graphics. Click each image to see a fuller size; here the computer RPG map looks bigger because it is portrait while the tabletop is landscape:
Note: As mentioned above these are still works in progress. But check the "D&D" (center-ish) section of the Tabletop map for what the artists have done as a sample. Each map will be completely redone by Keith Curtis (tabletop) and Robert Altbauer (computer RPGs).
Clicking the full computer RPG map shows most of the existing rooms drafted. The full tabletop RPG map above is just a layout, but here are more completed sample areas:
Bonus: Creature Stickers!
With each physical map you order, we're going to include a sheet of mini creature stickers. The creatures will be scaled to fit in the rooms as appropriate. The original idea is to put a creature sticker in each room of a game you've played/conquered, but use them however you like! The number of stickers will equal one monster for every 5 backers on the project. So the more backers, the more stickers!
Why Isn't ________ on the Map?
Please post a comment with a deserving game we've missed! Its impossible to not miss a game or two which should be on the chart. I'll be taking suggestions through July 15th. On the 16th, I'll post a survey for backers. If a few games not on either map finish very high on the survey, we'll add them. We may also use the survey to drop some. The survey will wrap on the 18th to give us time to make the final revisions.
See a Mistake?
Please let me know. Post a comment or send a message. Thank you!
A Comment on the Tabletop Map/Chart Insults a Game I Like...
A few comments on the Tabletop map do make jokes about some game systems. These are simply based on popular opinion. It isn't meant to be taken it too seriously--the idea that a game can be decided on within 2-5 questions is silly, yet hopefully a little bit helpful. Even if there is a comment you don't like you'll probably find a few other comments you like a lot.

What Games are on the Computer RPG Map?
These are a bit easier to find on the sample. We are still brainstorming the list post-2003, although some sequels based on games pre-1993 are already on the list. Here are some we plan to add (in each case we will likely add any sequels and expansions): Dragon Age, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, Mass Effect, The Witcher, Jade Empire, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance... please suggest more!
