WE'V JUST ADDED A BRAND NEW REWARD!!!
We understand that not everyone can get to Coleraine, so we're offering a brand new reward of a £20 Voucher that you can redeem in-store or online! This means if you don't live locally you can still enjoy our wonderful blends at home!
So, who are we?
We love tea and have spent the last year developing and perfecting our own range of teas, which we sell online and at markets such as the Causeway Speciality Market, Naturally North Coast & Glens and Ballyhackamore.
Now we are opening Northern Ireland’s FIRST Tea Bar and we invite you to join us on the journey.
So, what is a Tea Bar?
Good question…for us, INFUSE Tea Bar will focus on the art of good tea. We will place a strong emphasis on using the best brewing techniques to ensure a great tasting cup each and every time. The Tea Bar will be a celebration of loose leaf with a considerable selection of teas to choose from. We will also offer unique experiences such as Gong Fu tea ceremonies and Tea & Chocolate pairings.
Why do it ?
The simple answer is that we absolutely love tea! The humble tea leaf can make an amazing brew if treated right and that’s what we want to bring to Northern Ireland. From the quality of the leaves right down to the water temperature and brew time, we are passionate about making the very best tea we can and if we can share that with you, even better.
We need your help, here's why:
We have been lucky enough to secure £10,000 in funding from Ulster Bank, but anyone who knows anything about kitting out a premises knows that this figure is tiny. That’s why we are asking for your help to raise an extra £5,500 to help towards finalising and perfecting our plans. The money will help towards paying for the finer details of the shop fit, as well as purchases such as equipment, ceramics and tea pots, and even help us expand our current range of teas to include a few exciting and rare teas.
What’s in it for you?
Our aim is to create something truly unique for Northern Ireland and we want people to get involved in the process, but don’t worry, we have great rewards for your support.
Below is a quick guide to our rewards:
The aim with our rewards is to make them good value for you're money, so when you make a donation you are essentially prepaying your first (of hopefully many) INFUSE tea experiences.
What will the Tea Bar be like?
Whilst we only have a small space to work with, it will provide the perfect setting for a true tea experience; you can watch up front at the bar and learn more about the world of tea. We will also be serving a small food menu as well as a delicious selection of of treats and of course we will still serve coffee (we wouldn't dream of leaving it out).
Below is a rough sketch of the floor plans (subject to a small amount of rearranging).
How do we pull this off?
For the past three years we have been laying the foundations to make this dream a reality and now we’re getting ready to go in all guns blazing...The plan is to get the Tea Bar open during the summer, so we have a very short time frame from getting the keys to launch.
The Kickstarter itself will run for until the 27th of July, at the end of which we hope to be open within a matter of weeks (or days if things run smoothly and Duncan’s determination manages a minor miracle).
Help us spread the word.
For our Kickstarter to become a success, we need to spread the word far and wide, please help us to do that by sharing across social media and telling all your tea loving friends.
Thank you from Áine & Duncan!
Risks and challenges
The concept of a Tea Bar in Northern Ireland is very new, which means uncharted waters for both Áine and Duncan. However, they are both hugely passionate about tea and both have experience in the hospitality sector, with Duncan recently completing World Host training.
There is a risk that people won't fully understand the concept, so a crucial challenge will include educating people about what a Tea Bar is and how that differs from your average cafe or coffee house.
To minimise the risks, the pair have decided to start the business small, with the aim of growing it as demand for the concept increases. Yet, the size of the unit itself could also prove a challenge, if the demand outstrips the capacity.
Overall, the business concept has grown and developed over a number of years which has allowed both Áine and Duncan to plan meticulously to make their dream a reality; the figures are solid, with much room for growth!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
