THE QUEST FOR INFAMY COMPANION
20k STRETCH GOAL!
We have two days.... we might make, we might not - but let's try!
Okay guys - we're really excited to announce this stretch goal - and if we're able to attract enough backers and support to get over $20,000, we'll be able to hire comic book artist and illustrator, Gino J. Patti to produce a Prequel Comic for Quest For Infamy! Quest For Infamy: The Prequel ComicQuest For Infamy: The Prequel Comic
The comic book will include a beautiful full color cover, and each one will be numbered and signed! This comic will come with every tier above $100, so if you've already pledged to a tier above that, and we reach $20,000 - you'll automatically receive it along with your other rewards.
So - help us spread the word! Let's get some more backers to come in and help us reach the goal! This comic is going to be great; I've been writing a script for it, and it not only covers a bit of Roehm's back history, but also gives a little more insight into other elements that will affect the story in Quest For Infamy. It'll be a great item to own and to read for years to come.

I loved playing adventure games when I was young - I bet many of you did too - and now, you can play an old school adventure like you used to know with Infamous Quests upcoming release "Quest For Infamy"!
A fun thing about some of the old adventure games were the hint books - sometimes they used to be the only way to get you through a problem! But they were also fun, too - with their decoder windows, hidden messages and red herrings! They were awesome to get along side the games.
In addition, some game series had their own "companion books" - the books fleshed out the locations, characters and history behind the development of the games and they would also have some amazing art in there in addition to all the neat info!
Now, in the same vein of nostalgia that led us to produce Quest For Infamy, we're combining these two very special items into one book - The Quest For Infamy Companion!
(mock ups from book not intended to reflect final product/subject to change)
Our Quest For Infamy Companion will be chock full of the amazing art that brought this game to life - 8.5 x 11 (22 x 28 cm) in full, glorious color on beautiful glossy paper. Your favorite art pieces by Jenny Pattison, Jeremy Kitchen, Jason Lamb, Jon Stoll, Ivan Ulyanov, Elissa Ng and others will all be there - full reproduced in stunning colors. Along side the art - there will be interviews and chats with the artists, as well as trivia about making the game!
And interwoven with the art will be the complete strategy guide to Quest For Infamy! Full color maps of the areas of the game, with all of the answers to the games most intimate secrets protected by the ultimate in 80's secret message security. Red DOTS.
That's right! Using your custom QFI secret decoder window, you can discover the secrets of the world of Quest For Infamy - and find out how to take Roehm properly through the Valley Of Krasna and on his way - while amassing all the goodies he can.
ABOUT THE ART TEAM
The amazing artists who brought Quest For Infamy to life are an incredible team, who worked hand in hand and side by side with project director Steven "Bt" Alexander.
Jenny Pattison - Jenny was the lead portrait artist on Quest For Infamy. She designed, drew and painted every talking portrait in the game.
Jeremy Kitchen - Jeremy was the Art Director on Quest For Infamy - he not only created the style and look of the game, but he made many backgrounds himself - and sketched out almost all the layouts of every screen personally. He is also responsible for over 2,000 frames of animation!
Jason Lamb - Jason was a background artist, a concept artist and sketch designer on Quest For Infamy. He worked on many of the final backgrounds you'll see in the game.
Jon Stoll - Jon was a background artist, character and environmental animator on Quest For Infamy! A man of many talents, he helped bring the world to life!
Elissa Ng - Elissa's talented eye helped create many of the backgrounds that populate the town of Volksville and The Valley of Krasna, including many moody yet colourful forest backgrounds in the game.
Ivan Ulyanov - Ivan's amazing touch brought life to so many places in the game - including the graveyard and the Port City of Tyr!
Arseni Kondratenko - is an animator extraordinaire, and did many of the in game character animations you'll see.
Shane Stevens - an experienced animator in the adventure game field, having worked on games like Resonance and Mage's Initiation, Shane brings his talent to Quest For Infamy, helping to animate many of the enemies you'll fight in the game!
Daniel Thomas - Daniel helped create the lush backgrounds of the Port City of Tyr, based on Jeremy's designs!
Matthew Oates - Matt helped not only on backgrounds, but he created the Quest For Infamy logo.
Matt Frith - Matt did many of the little pixel animations in the game!
ABOUT 'QUEST FOR INFAMY'
Quest for Infamy is a role playing adventure game - with a retro look and feel, QFI will transport you back to the days of classic adventure gaming - all while delivering an amazing and intriguing adventure! It will be available on Steam, GoG.com and The Humble Store upon release!
We couldn't have made a game like Quest For Infamy without your help! To get this book off the ground and in your hands, we've set a goal of $5,000 dollars. This will help us set up the initial physical print run, secure the eBook production and placement in eStores, pay for the custom red-reveal decoders and allow us to hire someone to help us with layout - so we can get this book looking as sharp as it can!
GOAL AND BUDGET
We have our goal set at $5,000 - this is the minimum price we'd need to reach to be able to pay for the layout, design, graphics and assembly of the book - as well as to be able to pay for the printing of all the books for Kickstarter Rewards (and for their conversion to Nook/Kindle versions).
Also, due to the rising cost of shipping items overseas, we have to charge a fee for shipping overseas. You can always contact me to discuss this, or any other concerns you might have. I have an open door to our fans and backers.
We want to get started on this now, so we can have the book available when Quest For Infamy is completed - so that you can use your nice looking guide while playing it, instead of relying on a poorly written walkthrough on the internet.
$5 - If you just want to pitch a little forward to help out, you'll still get a special thanks as a supporter on our website, and I'll make sure to take the time out to write you back a personal message. Unless you don't want the message - then I will stay far away from your email inbox. Otherwise, I promise one heartfelt letter!
$15 - DIGITAL BOOK TIER - Just as the label says, you'll get a digital download of the book - in either a .pdf, ePub, Nook edition or Kindle Edition. Enjoy the beauty of the art and use the guide to help you discover all the secrets of the kingdom of Lonaria!
$25 - PHYSICAL COPY OF BOOK - Soft Cover Edition! You will receive, via post/mail, a soft-cover edition of "The Quest For Infamy Companion" complete with custom made Red Decoder. Make sure you don't fall for any bad information you might find hidden under the codes!

Risks and challenges
1.) The book isn't just a novelty - it's an art book and a hint guide. There will be full color reproductions of the art work in print resolutions on high-quality glossy paper. There will also be interviews with the artists that will talk about their pieces, and how their work fits into the world of Quest For Infamy. The strategy guide/hint book section will also not just be a bunch of random facts that you can unlock, but the fun of the old fashioned "red reveal" hints will be interspersed with quality created maps of areas, item lists, hints, tip and tricks - all with pertinent art work throughout.
2.) The art will be both pre-vis art and final renderings of elements, used in the game. There will also be some deleted and unused art in the book.
3.) We at Infamous Quests want to create quality and affordable products for people - the game, Quest For Infamy, has a digital download price point of $14.99 - and the Art Book's Digital Version is the same. The price for the Physical Version of the Book will actually be cheaper that the physical copy of the Game. The costs are calculated to be able for us to provide for their production, handling and to be able to help us pay the people who helped create the book, and the artists involved with the book. I feel that we have created a very affordable product, that is worthwhile and worthy of purchase by our fans. We wouldn't put out something that we didn't think would be of value to people - both monetarily and emotionally. I assure you, a great deal of effort and care is going into the book - and it will definitely provide entertainment value to those who would peruse and own it. The artists whose work will grace the pages have put over a year and half's worth of blood, sweat and tears into their pieces - and having these reproduced at a quality level is something they care about very much - and is something that is dear to me.
4.) The production costs associated with having a book printed up can be expensive - especially for a smaller, independent group like us - the book wouldn't be having a large, massive scale print job like something for a more well known title would have, so the costs are going to be a little more - but we can do this for the budget I have set for us.
The risks we face with this project, true, are there. We may have trouble getting the production run from the printer, but I feel we've chosen a good and reliable printer who can do a book like this for a reasonable price.
We have several back up printers we could work with, and I've looked into all of them. I do have contingency plans if any part of their work falls through, which I feel is important.
The artwork is complete! It's just waiting to be put into a decent layout - with some of the funds raised, I can hire a layout artist to work side by side with me to achieve the look and layout that we like. I've had plenty of experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, so I know the kind of design we want, and I'll be active in it. Working on a game and working on a book at the same time will be hard, which is why I want to get my layout assistant/copy editor on board!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
