Hi, my name is Indira and you may remember me from such Kickstarters as Sacrimony: A tale of love, life and death in no particular order. This time around, I’m here to talk about my other comic, The Misadventures of Buddy and Friend.
Buddy and Friend is a lighthearted story chock full of dark humor. It was brought to life in early 2013 on a whim and has been my longest running project going on over five years. As of now, I have 10 chapters completed and I'm currently in the midst of chapter 11.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the story, you can check it out at buddyandfriendcomic.com OR you can just listen to me ramble about it here!
The Misadventures of Buddy and Friend is the tale of three inept heroes: Buddy, Leo and LokhTharr who set out on an epic quest to save the world from an ever impending demon invasion. Buddy is the careless leader whose negligence ends up getting the team into trouble. Leo is a Barbarian with a heart of gold, whose good intentions also end up getting the team in trouble. And LokhTharr is a morally bankrupt… er… wizard(?)… whose terrible hijinks also end up getting the team into trouble.
Together, these guys travel from kingdom to kingdom in order to retrieve the keys to an inter-dimensional axe known as Riftwielder so they can seal away the evil demon lord, Emperor Gingersnap. On the flipside, Emperor Gingersnap has sent out some of his own heroes to retrieve Riftwielder so he can use it to bring forth his army from hell.
Who will get to Riftwielder first!? Find out… sometime. Whenever that happens. Definitely not in this book and probably in another 5 years or so.
This kickstarter covers the first four chapters, which span about 100 pages total. If my stretch goals are hit, I will just keep adding on more and more chapters until I hit 10… or even 11! Yes, you heard me. Eleven! If you’re caught up on the comic, you might notice that Chapter 11 isn’t even done yet. But I’d totally be willing to finish it ahead of the scheduled web updates just for you! Hypothetically speaking, it would be a behemoth of a book weighing in at around 275 pages. Yes, you heard me. Two-hundred seventy five pages! RIDICULOUS!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out this kickstarter! I hope you enjoy reading Buddy and Friend as much as I love working on it! And hey, if you can't afford to pitch in financially, you can always help spread the word. Every little bit helps!
Risks and challenges
Everything is prepped and ready for printing and other non-book rewards are ready to be made. There are always risks with printing, such as formatting errors, colors coming out not as intended and unexpected shipping delays. I've set the estimated delivery date to August 2018 to account for any problems along the way .Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
